  • A teacher riles the local Southern bullys by teaching that Quantril and his men were bad guys. The fact that she also says the Jay Hawkers were bad guys cuts no ice with them and they intend to stop her. Paladin rescues her and history as we know it.moreless

The young lady who portrays the teacher in this play is amazing! Very believable and well acted. The child actors were also excellent. In my opinion. Richard Boone is at his best with children. His true affection for them is apparent, which elevates his position to moral and rightous.

This is another social commentary play, teaching a lesson where one is likely not to be needed by the audience. However, the story is so well written and performed that it is a pleasure to watch The Teacher again and again.moreless

    • (goof) When Paladin is sitting on the ground he reaches for his hat and picks it up. Then it switches to a closer shot and he again reaches for and picks up his hat.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Jason: I wonder if I could interest you in a new product that came in just recently. It's called "soap."
Daniel: You trying to make me look the fool, Mr. Coldwell?
Jason: Why, no, Mr. Weaver. I just thought you might find a use for it.

    • Paladin: Men like Breck--they always run in packs. You break a piece of that pack and pure yellow shows through.

    • Paladin: Well, I'll call this a civic duty......as I take the time to vote or sit on a jury.

    • Coley: Well, now. And who're you?
Paladin: My name's Paladin. What do they call you when they're being polite?

    • Paladin: All right, Breck. Start. (Pause) What are you waiting for? You got a gun in that holster. You have two good hands, you're standing on your own two feet, what more do you want? Want an edge? Here. (Holds his hand out in front of his gun) That better?

    • Paladin: How about the rest of you? Anybody else? You want to try it again?
Coley: I only got one good arm.
(Paladin looks at Daniel; Daniel looks at his one-armed son.)
Daniel: Man wants to make it even, Joe. Accommodate him.
Joe: I'm at your disposal, sir.
