  • I'd love to see a spin off

A great stand alone episode with no Wo Fat, Doris or Kono/shady boyfriend. I just loved the new character, I'd love to see a spin off about a paranoid conspiracy theorist who solves mysteries and crimes.
  • Nice episode

    8.5
Nicely done episode. Funny banter with Danno and Steve - I just love their snarky comments and "carguments". The case was nice enough, some definitely weird but funny moments with that Jerry guy. The action and mythology were a little over the top, but that's to be expected with this show and one of the reasons I watch it - just don't apply logic and enjoy the ride ;). It was sad to see Cat leave her old job but I'm excited to see what her new job holds for her and how it will tie in with her helping 5-0. But I really miss Kono - let's hope she comes back soon!moreless

    • Jerry: Yeah, you guys do your thing, and I'll stay here, keep digging into the legend of the missing rings.
Danny: Good. Say hello to the Hobbits for me.

    • Steve: You got a better idea?
Danny: No, I don't, but just because some whack job says that Jimmy Hoffa's buried under Giants Stadium does not mean you go digging up the turf. No offense, Jerry.
Jerry: None taken. Hoffa's not buried under Giants Stadium. He's under the runway at LaGuardia.
      Steve: There you go.

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Jerry: (narrating for the film he's making) The proof is out there.

The scene where Steve, Danny and Chin Ho meet with Jerry in his basement deals with long-lost treasures, medieval secrets and conspiracy theories, along with subtle dialogue, music and visual references, to the cult series The X-Files. This line alludes to the The X-Files tagline "The truth is out there." which was used at the end of many episodes.

    • Chin: (reminiscing with Jerry about their time in band camp) Dude, how could I forget? Looked like we were stuck on a deserted island all summer.

Daniel Dae Kim (Chin Ho Kelly) and Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega) were cast members of the series Lost, which followed a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a deserted island. Lost, created by Jeffrey Lieber, J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, aired from September 22, 2004 to May 23, 2010 on ABC.
