  • More than pleasantly surprised.

You know, I was prepared to be as negative about Dane Cook's appearance as I was Lachey and Minillo's last week, but I was wrong. This series proves me wrong more often than I'm actually comfortable with, but there you go...

This was excellent. The aside of Danny's brother and his financial mis-dealings was a great story in itself, but it also allowed the other main series characters to come forth in the second ongoing case of the bomber-slash-revenge artist. Well done.

However, the Williams family dynamic definitely shone tonight and thank gawd lame old Stan was on another business trip, facilitating new road repairs to the Danny-Rachel Highway. Scott Cann was really good, and so, surprisingly, was Dane Cook; though it would have been hard not be be carried along on the Caan wave tonight...you would have had to be...I dunno...Nick Lachey or Vanessa Minillo to miss that gravy train.

Well done H50, and still, many doors left open for the continuing saga of the Williams family. Combine that with the continuing stories of the McGarrett family and the Kelly family, and you have yourself quite the series...moreless
  • All around amazing episode

the cases that hit a little closer to home are always a bit more interesting and this one was twice as much. the case of the week was really heartbreaking. how one decission can affect so many people in such a negative way. the more personal case was intersting as well. its always nice to see family members and Danny's brother was nice one. and really, kudos to Scott Caan. as much as I adore everyone in the main cast, Scott just blows my mind. the writting for teh character and his acting are just a whole other level of impressive. it was a really intense episode and a joy to watch.moreless

    • Danny: I think, um, I'm going to be a while, though.
Steve: Why? What are you going to do?
Danny: I got it. Don't worry about it, it's nothing.
Steve: Uh, okay. I know what nothing means, so…
Danny: Nothing means nothing, Steven, okay. I'm fine.
Steve: Okay, stop, don't go anywhere. I'm going to be there, soon.

    • (Steve tells him he is going to call the Governor)
FBI Agent: Right, you have the Governor on speed dial.
      Danny: That's right.
Steve: Hello Governor. Yes Ma'am. No. I'm standing with a couple of FBI agent here, who are refusing to share information about a case. (FBI agents are smirking)
Danny: Why are you smiling? He's not kidding. He did this to me.

    • Matt: You handcuffed me to a monkey cage.
Danny: I was doing my job.
      Matt: You were nine!
      Danny: They were plastic handcuffs.

    • Matt: We can hang out for the day and meet you for dinner. What do you think, Grace?
      Grace: Yeah.
Danny: All right. But listen, no funny stuff. No trouble, okay?
      Grace: I won't.
Danny: I know you won't. I'm talking to him.

    • Matt: Our parents would say, "Where's your brother?" and Danny would say, "Guess we lost him."
      Rachel: You are horrible, Danny.
Danny: Yeah well, I always came back for you, didn't I?

    • Matt: You gonna shoot me, Danny?
Danny: I should shoot you. You stupid son-of-a-bitch! Laundering money for drug dealers? What the hell's the matter with you?

    • Danny: Listen to me. Who do you think you're talking to, huh? Think you're talking to one of your dopey clients. I'm your brother! You don't lie to me!
Matt: What do you want to hear? That I took the money? Fine! I took the money!

    • Danny: You know, I really appreciate the escort through the Hilton, I'm just stopping to pick up Grace.
Steve: It's no big deal; besides I want to meet your brother.
Danny:Well, be warned. Mr. Wallstreet has quite a personality.
      Steve: Runs in family, huh?
      Danny: Disorder. Personality disorder.
