  • The new governor, hoping to make himself look good, appoints a former Homeland Security officer to Five-0. McGarrett is not happy at all, but does not have time to complain because Five-0 is sent to investigate the kidnapping of a teenage girl.moreless

"Ua Lawe Wale" is an entertaining episode. I was never bored and my interest was hooked until the end. However, I think the episode tried too hard. The writers of this episode seemed to have included too much of everything. You have the subplots of McGarret not being happy with the new addition to his team, Kono having to deal with an unscrupulous Internal Affairs detective, the suspense ploy involving the kidnapped girl who needs to be recovered soon or else and the shootout at the cult compound. There was a little too much here. I think the episode could have been better if it were scaled down a bit. In the end however, I don't regret seeing the episode.moreless

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Chin: You're about to kill the career of a good cop because you think she did something wrong.
Captain Fryer: I know she did something wrong. The apple doesn't fall far from the family tree.
      Chin: This isn't about me.
Captain Fryer: You're right. It isn't. The governor wants to make it very clear that there's a zero tolerance policy with regards to crime and corruption. He's tasked me with cleaning up this department. Which is exactly what I'm going to do -starting with your cousin.

    • Steve: They wouldn't hear an ATV from a mile away, would they, Danny? But you know what? Your whining is probably louder than an ATV.
      Danny: My whining?
      Steve: Yeah, your whining.
Lori: How long have you two been married?

    • Lori: You just wanted me out of your hair.
      Steve: Fine.
      Lori: Fine?
Steve: Yeah, fine. I sidelined you.
Lori: Well, at least you're man enough to admit it.
Steve: Lori, we met this morning. You expect me to trust you the way I these people out there? I've been in the field with these people. They've had my back. I trust them with my life.

    • Chin: (About Lori Weston) What? Why wouldn't she last?
Danny: Well, Let's see what she looks like when she gets done with Sgt. Slaughter's Boot Camp.
Steve: What's that supposed to mean?
Danny: Let's just try not to get the new girl blown up, kidnapped, or shot on her first day. That's all. Can we do that, Steven?
      Steve: I can't guarantee that.
