  • The Sweet Terror title represents the sugar terrorist. McGarrett must thwart a plan to add a chemical fungus to Hawaii's sugar cane crop and put a huge dent in the industry.moreless

Hawaii scenery/landmarks: The King Street-Hotel Street area also known as Chinatown makes another appearance, and Maunakea Street is also shown. The same Kahala beachfront property is reused as the professor's hideout, with Koko Head and Kawaihoa Point shown on the far left side of the beach. The professor's Korean henchman visits the Leahi hospital across from Diamond Head. An educated guess would place the sugar cane scenes in the North Shore area.

Notable stars: The evil yet suave Professor Erich Stoss is played by the versatile Theodore Bikel, who has an impressive extensive acting resume. Philip Ahn plays the rich homeowner Quon, and later went on to play the bald Master Kahn in the Kung Fu TV series from 1972-75.

This episode deals with Professor Stross trying to sabotage Hawaii's sugar cane industry by poisoning the crop. A wild idea, but not as devastating as the Pearl Harbor attack, which he compares to in a meeting. It's never far fetched for the villain to blow things out of proportion. His lovely assistant sneaks through the alleys of Oahu's Chinatown district to buy some Asian fungus herbs to create the sugar cane poison. As she tries to evade McGarrett's boys, who are hot on her tail, she accidentally gets hit by a taxi. (Sorry, Charley!) McGarrett grills her in her hospital bed, and she seems oddly euphoric after being hit by a car. Must have been the herbs... uh - the medication.moreless
