    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The first time McGarrett records David Harper's statement, he presses the play button using only one finger. After playing back a segment of the statement, he puts it on record again, this time using both hands to put it on record.

      • Kono poses as a telephone repairman to secretly gather the machine shavings (from Dr. Southmore's boring machine) that were used to convict him. He should have obtained a search warrant to gather evidence inside someone's private property, although it's possible that he did obtain a warrant offscreen.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • McGarrett: Well, tell me Doctor, do you know of anyone who had a reason to kill your wife?
Dr. Southmore: I don't understand, Mr. McGarrett. She was robbed. Isn't it obvious why she was killed?
McGarrett: Well, the obvious always bothers me, Doctor.

      • Chin: Japanese chicken noodle soup, from my Uncle Li's all night joint.
McGarrett: Thanks, Chin. (Pause) I thought your uncle was Chinese.
Chin: Oh, he is. But his joint is in a Japanese neighborhood. So he's passing.
