  • Some strong elements, definitely needs the viewer's attention to follow the plot, a little too unlikely a conclusion.

Five-O moves in to discover the killer of an informant. An interesting episode that starts strong but finishes much weaker.

The set-up is good, its always good to see McGarrett square off against the feds moving in on "his turf" and there's nice banter about it, with the Governor even having to run interference with the US Attorney General to keep the F.B.I. from completely taking over the case.

And the main plot, concerning a murdered federally-protected informant who was surgically altered to protect his identity, is fun. Che Fong and Doc Bergman are definitely needed to add their expertise and there's nothing really wrong with the killer and the deceased's wife being in cahoots.

The weak elements include a rather confusing and almost un-needed role for Abe Vigoda as a retired "syndicate" boss, and another possible switch in identity that is only really a ruse for McGarrett to trap the murderer. The climax is too much, and even McGarrett admits that it might be seen as entrapment, and by every measure it is, with HPD officers posing as hired hitmen that threaten to kill the suspect in his own home.

Not a bad idea, a little off in the execution.moreless
