    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (5)

      • During the opening chase sequence, as the car driven by Larsen passes by, the shadows of the camera crew can be seen in the background, and the shadow of one person, possibly the director, can be seen raising his hand.

      • During the opening police chase, as the car driven by Larsen is shown passing by, Celeste can be seen calmly sitting on the passenger side. In the scenes immediately before and after, inside the car, she is shown struggling with Larsen.

      • Names of minor characters:

-The landlady's name is Mrs. Davis.
-McGarrett addresses one of the police officers as Kemo at Celeste Caro's apartment.
        -McGarrett calls the technician "Jimmy."

      • In the scene where Danno and Kono are following McGarrett and Dan Larsen to the boat, Danno and Kono have their shirt sleeves rolled up and they are not wearing ties, a significant change from their usual attire. Given the warm temperatures in Honolulu, it is surprising that they normally wore coats and ties while on duty.

      • License plate numbers:

McGarrett's car has the usual F6-3958 license plate number.

The license plate number for Celeste Caro's car is D8-5382.

The license plate number of Danno's car is 4C-5456.

The Hawaii state license plate design consisted of white numbers and letters on a hunter green background. The state name was stamped above the numbers and letters and the words "ALOHA STATE" below. This format was used in Hawaii between 1961 and 1968.

    • QUOTES (1)

    • NOTES (5)

      • Don Knight's character is listed as "Steve Larsen" in the end credits, but in the episode he's referred to as "Dan".

      • This is the first appearance of Josie Over and Don Knight. Both actors would go on to appear in various episodes of the series, never playing the same character twice, except that Josie Over played the role of Horton's Girl in both episodes of the two-part story "The Grandstand Play."

      • The address of the county jail is given as Solario County, California. This is a fictional name although it bears close resemblance to the name of an actual county in California, Solano County, which is located to the northeast of San Francisco.

      • Additional credits:

Automobiles furnished by Ford Motor Company
Filmed entirely on location in Hawaii
        A Leonard Freeman Production
        In Association With
        The CBS Television Network

      • The official syndication number for this episode is 6807.
