In an earlier Season 4 episode ("... And I Want Some Candy And A Gun That Shoots"), Herman Wedemeyer had played an HPD officer named Duke Kanaha, the first time he appeared as a character named "Duke." In this episode, he played a character named "Duke."
Beginning with the first episode of Season 5 ("Death Is A Company Policy"), he would play the character of Edward D. "Duke" Lukela, a recurring character in Seasons 5 through 8. Wedemeyer became one of the main cast members for Seasons 9 through 12. Duke Lukela was an HPD officer who rises up through the ranks to become a detective with the Five-O unit.
The official syndication number for this episode is 7119.
Herman Wedemeyer appears in the credits as "Harry" Wedemeyer.
The billionaire Morgan Hilliard in this episode is modeled, in part, on the reclusive Howard Hughes. Like Hughes, he is interested in technology and engineering (in this case, a steam-powered car fueled by natural gas). He also shuns human contact, insisting that visitors to his yacht be disinfected.
