Hawaiian Moving Co.

Show Summary

Hawaiian Moving Co. was a magazine show that ran weekly on station KGMB-TV from 1978 to 2004. The show originally started as a disco dance program, but changed to a magazine format two years later. Hosted for 24 seasons by Micheal W. Perry, a popular local radio personality, the show's segments featured compelling human interest stories and interviews with celebrities, such as Tom Selleck. One of the longest running shows in the history of Hawaiian television, it won critical praise from many reviewers as well as three Emmy awards. It typically won every time period in which it aired, including a late-night slot on Sunday evenings. Hawaiian Moving C0. produced over 3,000 segments during its time on the air and was syndicated in five countries in Europe and Asia. In addition to the long tenure of host Micheal W. Perry, the program had the same producer-director, Randy Brandt, from 1984 until the show ended its run in 2004.
