The kanji on the head band worn by the russian roulette's victim says Tōkon or Fighting Spirit.
Claire: You don't play if you can't pay, asshole!
(knocks the poet to the floor)
And another thing: Your poetry sucks! Don't pretend to be an arteest if you don't have any talent. That really pisses me off. Guess you figured that out, huh?
Boma: I have no wish to harm such a skilled and talented warrior, so If you leave now, I will spare your life.
Daisuke: I'm not going anywhere.
Boma: Why are you so concerned about a machine?
Daisuke: 'Cause this machine's my partner.
Boma: You don't think this android...could ever betray you?
Daisuke: Whether he could or not doesn't matter. Androids can be friends or enemies. It depends on how they're programmed. My partner's program allows him to make spontaneous decisions based on his own judgement. I never know what he's going to do next, which makes things a whole lot more interesting.
Boma: And why is that?
Daisuke: Because it's confusing, chaotic, and unpredictable. Just like humans.
(Steam starts to blow out of J, as he begins rebooting)
Daisuke: Looks like Mr. Unpredictable's staging a comeback.
Japanese Title: 「獣」-「Kemono」-「Beast」
Boma: You've got some good moves for an unaltered human.
Daisuke: My grandpa started training me when I was a little kid.
Daisuke's grandpa plays a very important role in the series. However, his identity is not mentioned until episode 24, "ALTERATION".
