    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Here's what's on the menu tonight:
Well, tonight you're really in for a treat. I've got 3 kinds of pie and 3 kinds of meat and 4 kinds of vegetables and 5 kinds of drinks. Even Junior will get full for once, don't ya think?

      • Hee Haw salutes Sevierville TN (Dolly Parton's hometown), population 2661, and Guion IN, population 7.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • (Inside Lulu's Truck Stop)
Archie: Hey waitress, you got chicken legs?
Lulu: No, it's rheumatism that makes me walk like this!

      • Archie: I do believe that Junior Samples is the laziest one man I've ever seen.
Roy: Boy, I know it. If he wakes up twice in one week, he complains he's got insomnia.
Junior: Some folks just don't know how to relax and have a good time.

      • (The Naggers, as usual, in their home arguing)
Ida Lee (Roni): Turn that old thing off! You give that radio more attention than you do me.
LaVerne (Gordie): Because I get less interference from the radio.
        Ida Lee
: It's about time, LaVerne, that I gave you a piece of my mind.
LaVerne: Just a small helping, please.
        Ida Lee
: There you go again. Why, you don't ever give me a compliment.
LaVerne: Why, I paid you a compliment last night.
Ida Lee: Some compliment. You said "Boy, you're a nice one!"

      • (The guys singing "Gloom, Despair, and Agony on Me")
Grandpa: Gordie sure was relieved to hear what the doctor said.
Kenny: About something his wife had had, since before they was wed.
Roy: On her neck was this ugly growth and the doctor said he couldn't take it off.
Gordie: But he said not to worry none, though, it's just her head.

      • (In the schoolhouse, with teacher Minnie)
Teacher: Children, we've been studying Astronomy. Knox, I want you to name 4 things in outer space.
Knox: Uhhh, 2 planets and 2 stars!
Teacher: That's not an adequate answer. Jenny, why aren't you paying attention. What are you doing?
Jenny: I'm writing a letter to myself, teacher.
        Teacher: What does it say?
Jenny: Well, I don't know. I haven't even received it yet!

      • (The Gossip Girls singing) Gunilla: That Lucy Jones is more than mean and ugly. She's the biggest liar in all of this creation. Marianne: You know I never figured she was two-faced. Cause if she was, she wouldn't be wearing that one.

      • (After some bad jokes)
Dolly Parton: I guess that's Hee-Haw's contribution to ecology. They're recycling old jokes.

      • (Senator Willie Ackerman (Gordie Tapp) campaigning at the train station)
Senator: My fellow Americans, I'm here to answer your questions, so fire away.
Misty: Senator, what about your brother, who is trying so hard to get a government job. What's he doing now?
Senator: Nothing. He got the job!
Grandpa: Senator, my oldest boy wants a job in your office.
Senator: And what can he do, sir?
        Grandpa: Nothing.
Senator: Fine, I won't have to break him in!
