Helen West Casebook

Show Summary

Helen West Casebook is a series that was based on novels by author Frances Fyfield, who is a former crown prosecutor. The main character of the show is loosely based on the author herself. The series is about a prosecuting attorney named Helen West (Amanda Burton) that tries to achieve balance in a life that consists of an emotionally heavy caseload and a stressful relationship with a police officer named Geoffrey Bailey (Conor Mullen). Helen West is a very hot-headed and driven woman who tends to pursue justice in each case, even when she is told by her bosses to drop them. The show only ran for three episodes that were an hour and a half each in length. It was produced for the ITV television network in 2001. Although the show only aired three episodes it had received enough of a cult following that on August 18, 2009 Acorn Media released the show on DVD.
