I think this is the only Norwegian character I've ever seen on American tv (or movie for that matter) that actually has the right accent! Mostly they sound like swedes, but this guy speaks proper broken english Norwegian style.

I agree. Its very refreshing to see a character like this on American TV. He does speak properly. That is just one of the many merits of this great show!

That's because Christopher Heyerdahl is actually Norwegian.

I think that is part of the "joke" so to speak. Even though he is Norwegian he is still called The Swede.

he is known as the swedeon the show. he is an exceptional actor. remember him on supernaturaln the head of a pin" ? playing the part of hells most adept demon at torture "alistar"being tortured by dean for info on who is killing angels. he was as scary and creepy as it gets. on sanctuary, playing 2 parts but the audience not knowing one because of extensive makeup with big guy, while earlier in the series playing a time traveling jack the ripper. he is adept at a wide range of roles. and his british roles vary alot from the above mentioned. he isn't playing a likable guy,but you can't take your eyes off him when he is acing...

Well wasn't he always Jack the Ripper in one of his Sanctuary roles, just not time traveling anymore?

But yeah he was awesome in those three roles on those two shows.
