  • A fast paced frenzied show with more stress than a normal person could take.

I love this series but I do think Chef Ramsey sometimes gets carried away with the derogatory remarks, especially to Jimmy, the nice overweight guy. You don't have to be THAT rude to get your point across. While I do find Chef Ramsey amusing most of the time, I think in this episode he hit a new low. Elise, the mom of six, is still hanging in there and seems to be one the the chef's favorites. Still one of my favorites.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • Andrew attempts to cheat on the Dinner Service punishment- a locked storeroom- by trying to tape the door's bolt. Scott, Blue Team's sous chef, catches him and makes him remove it immediately.

    • The Red Team: Elsie, Jimmy, and Michael

The Blue Team: Ralph, Jessica, and Andrew

    • This is the third time Andrew has been nominated for elimination. Third time's the charm, because he was eliminated.

    • Service Period The service period was not divided into Red tables and Blue tables as diners were able to select an entire Red or Blue menu of selections created and cooked by each individual team. Although the blue team served more dishes during the period, they had a higher number of main dishes returned to the kitchen, causing Ramsay to select them as the losing team. As Jessica was not involved in the preparation of the rejected entrees, Ramsay selected Jessica as the night's winner.

    • Dinner Menu: Always one to shake things up, Ramsay threw out the entire menu yet again, and asked each team to create menus of their own. The two teams were going to compete head-to-head, with diners choosing to eat from the Red menu or the Blue menu.

    • Reward Challenge: Team members were blindfolded and earmuffed and then asked to identify various foods by taste alone. Each participant had to identify four different food items. The Red Team won the challenge and received an afternoon of wine tasting with Chef Ramsay, while the losing Blue Team had to clean all the cookware used in the previous night's service. A further penalty was that their storeroom would be secured by a combination lock during the next service period, forcing the Team to enter the complicated code every time they needed supplies.

    • Best of the Worst: Jessica

Nominees for Elimination: The Blue Team's Andrew by Jessica. The Blue Team's Ralph by Ramsay.

      Eliminated: Andrew

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Jean Philippe: Your starter, main course has to match. No mixing and matching. Thank you.
      Male Customer: Thank you.
Narrator: The Red menu features Jimmy's roasted duck breast, Michael's filet mignon and Elsie's traditional paella. The Blue menu includes Ralph's mushroom agnolotti, Ralph's grilled New York sirloin steak, Ralph's lemon grass poached halibut and Ralph's flourless chocolate cake.

    • (Chef Ramsay attempts to teach Jimmy about the art of wine-tasting)
Chef Ramsay: I'm going to teach you how to sip wine. Okay? You go like this-- (puckers lips in an "O" shape) Show me. (Jimmy attempts it, poorly) That's it. Suck your lips together. Here we go. Watch. (laughs at Jimmy's attempt)
Jimmy: (in an interview segment) I don't know much about wine. Uh, I know quite a bit about beer. Heh. (at the wine-tasting) Forget it.
Elsie: (in an interview segment) It was just hilarious, 'cause there's just nothing refined about Jimmy.

    • Jessica: The punishments are definitely getting worse. 'Hell's Kitchen' is becoming more Hell.

    • Chef Ramsay: (during the blind and deaf taste test) Andrew, can you hear me? You jumped up little politician, can you hear me? Well good, that's working. Jimmy, what's it like to be slim? He definitley can't hear me.

    • Michael: (after Chris' elimination) My decision to put Chris up there was definitely like, drawing first blood. I'm really trying to be this black widow. This is a competition no matter what, you know, that's one less competitor that I have.

    • Chef Ramsay: (on Andrew's elimination) Andrew's gone tonight because he's out of his depth. I've discovered the fake, he can't cook.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Starting from this point onwards episodes generally begin with a recap of the previous episode's highlights instead of an introduction of Chef Ramsey and the show's concept, as was done in the first five episodes.
