Episode Summary

EDIT

The two teams are asked to demonstrate their ability in the front of the house, with the winners getting a spa treatment while the losers must polish up the silverware to Jean Phillipe's satisfaction. During the fourth night's service, things are jumping when they are asked to prepare frog legs for the menu, and Chef Ramsay declares that he won't close the restaurant until one team serves all of their tables.

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (6)

      • This is the second episode in a row that Andrew is nominated for elimination, but manages to surive.

      • The Red Team: Chris, Elsie, Jimmy, and Michael

The Blue Team: Ralph, Jessica, Mary Ellen, and Andrew

      • Misc.: Both Teams learned how to cook pigeon and frog legs.

      • Reward Challenge : Ramsay passed the two Teams to Jean Philippe, his Maitre D', for a lesson in how to properly set a dining table. The teams then had to replicate a sample table containing over 90 items within a 5 minute time period. The Blue Team (one mistake: glasses too close to plates) won the challenge and received an afternoon of spa treatments, while the Red Team (four mistakes: chairs in and out, napkins poorly folded, plate too near table edge, fingerprints on glasses) had to clean and polish all the glass and silverware. An additional penalty was that the Red Team had to take time away from their food prep to set all 100 tables in the restaurant before the next service period.

      • Service Period: Ramsay promised that the first Team to complete all of their orders, no matter how long it would take, would be safe from elimination. Despite their handicap of starting their food prep later than the other Team, the Red Team pulled ahead and won the service period. The Chef told the Blue Team to shut it down without completing their service (five tables didn't receive their main courses), as it was after 11:00 pm.

      • Best of the Worst: Jessica

Nominees for Elimination: The Blue Team's Andrew and Mary Ellen.

        Eliminated: Mary Ellen

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Andrew: (in an interview segment) My one goal for the evening is keep my mouth shut. You know, 'Yes, Chef. No, Chef. Thank you, Chef. Here you go, Chef, on the window.'

      • Andrew: I just survived the guillotine twice, and the most important lesson that I've learned is when you're facing the Devil in Hell's Kitchen, shut your ****ing mouth.

      • Chef Ramsay: (when the Red Team has only one more ticket) Jimmy, start dancing like a ballerina. Move! (Jimmy smiles)

      • Chef Ramsay: (before service begins) I'm desperate for us to finally complete a service, and that's why I'm giving the Teams extra motivation. But I'm not going to send out food that is mediocre. It has to be right. I'll be shocked if either Team can serve all their tables.

      • (as all the contestants are relaxing on the patio, Elsie looks up and sees the billboard overhead has a picture of Chef Ramsay looking down on them)
Elsie: Did you see the billboard?! It's Ramsay! Look!
Jessica: Oh my God! (they all stand up laughing) No ****ing way!
Elsie: He's scary right now, though.
Jessica: He's totally watching us! I can't see his right eye, either.
Elsie: He really is a big boy!
        Chris: Yes, Chef.
        Jessica: Hey, big boy!
        Chris: Oui, Chef, oui, chef.
Jessica: Dude, that's not right! Man, I'm creeped out about that!
Andrew: He's calling us a wanker from above.

      • Ralph: (after he nominates Andrew for elimination) Are you trying to achieve the role of smart ass?
Andrew: All right, fine, I'm a smart ass! I got a big mouth, and I stood up for what I believed in tonight!
Ralph: Yeah, but is that the role you want?
        Andrew: No, absolutely not.
Ralph: So put this bull**** away, man. You don't want to be up on the guillotine, then just shut your ****ing mouth, man.

      • Chef Ramsay: (on why he eliminated Mary Ellen) Mary Ellen has left Hell's Kitchen because of her inconsistency. What the rest of the team should understand, is that it is very crucial to get better and more consistent. That didn't happen with Mary Ellen.
