Episode Summary

With both teams struggling at working together, Gordon Ramsay thrusts them into a challenge that directly tests their teamwork. He has them serve breakfast to a group of 100 young kids. A close challenge ends with one team suffering the punishment of cleaning the entire kitchen and doing all the day's prep, while the other enjoys a day of pampering. The kitchen opens for service that evening, but both teams put in a disastrous performance. In a first, Chef Ramsay declares both teams to be losers and has them each nominate two chefs for elimination.

Seth is one disgusting person. Who wipes their face and nose with the same cloth used clean pans. He should have been eliminated as soon as that happened. That is so unhygienic it's disturbing. Coi should have been up for elimination based on the performance that she had at dinner service. She messed up quite a bit on something that should'nt have been to hard. I think Ramsay really got to her and she had trouble recovering.

Ben is not as good as he thinks he is. He is way to confident based on how well his done so far. He needs to tone it down a notch.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Rewards Challenge: Gordon Ramsay told the chefs that this challenge was intended to test their teamwork. With just thirty minutes to prepare, they had to cook breakfast for a hundred hungry children, members of the Pacific Coast Youth Football and Cheer League. The winning team was the one to complete service first.

Reward: The Red Team secured their first challenge victory and was told that they were going camping... Beverly Hills style. This meant a day of being pampered poolside at the Beverly Wilshires Four Seasons hotel.

Punishment: The Blue Team is made to fully clean both the dining room and the kitchens, then do all of the prep for service, which is held that evening.

    • Nominees for Elimination: Gordon Ramsay told both teams that they lost. Seth & Ben were nominated by the Blue Team and Colleen & Lacey were nominated by the Red Team.

      Eliminated: Seth

    • With three men down from the Blue Team and only one woman lost from the Red, Chef Ramsay transfers Lacey to the Blue Team for the next episode.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Paula: (after Colleen spends more time cheering than cooking) These cheerleaders were so cute! You know, it's when they get older and they get more annoying.

    • Chef Ramsay: Seth showed that he had all the passion in the world, but the bottom line is he's a crap cook.

    • Chef Ramsay: I can't go any further with you, big boy.
Seth: Yes, Chef. It's been a pleasure. (in an interview segment) My abilities and my skills are definitely was what lagged behind, not my confidence, not my passion, not my love for food.

    • Chef Ramsay: Something's really bugging me. You know that? And I can't stop thinking about it. And here's why. If a customer goes out for dinner and their steak is slightly overcooked or undercooked, it gets redone and they move on and enjoy the evening. But if a customer goes out for dinner and they get served a butt of lettuce, that's how reputations get destroyed in minutes, butthead.

    • Paula: (in an interview segment) Colleen takes a damn hard beating from Chef Ramsay just about every night and she keeps her head up high, but I think her brain, it's just breaking down.

    • Danny: (in an interview segment, regarding the garnish station) It's-- it's just a difficult station. Chef Ramsay's like, always calls it, you know, just heating up vegetables, but it-- it-- it was rough, man.
Chef Ramsay: Where's the ****ing garnish? Thirty seconds, I'm gonna ****ing kick you out, personally. Danny?
      Danny: It's working, Chef.
      Chef Ramsay: How long?
Danny: It's gonna be a minute, Chef.

    • Chef Ramsay: Why is the sauce not ready?
Ben: It was not worked on, Chef, and I'll take care of it right away, Chef.
Chef Ramsay: God, what a Muppet.

    • Chef Ramsay: Why are you cooking spaghetti when I haven't even fired it? Damn! ****ing why?!
      Coi: I'm sorry, Chef.
Chef Ramsay: I can't believe this. Why can't you just drop it to order?
      Coi: I will, Chef.
Chef Ramsay: Tell me why you can't!
Coi: I was just trying to get ahead, Chef.
Chef Ramsay: You can't get ahead! You're not that good!

    • Narrator: The loss of the teamwork challenge has had quite an impact and Danny and Ben are at each other's throats.
Ben: Are you joking me?! You couldn't cook my ****!

    • Chef Ramsay: Why are you looking so pissed off? You lost.
Seth: Disappointed, Chef. We should have won.
Chef Ramsay: Well, there you are.
Ben: It was in our grasp and we let it go, Chef.
Chef Ramsay: You have every right to be pissed off, your performance was ****. Now, get back upstairs in the dorm, and I'll get Jean-Philippe to call you when he's ready. Move, let's go.

    • Colleen: (in an interview segment, after the Red Team wins the challenge) How could we lose with cheerleaders? (singing) V-I! V-C-I-T-O-R-Y! [sic]

    • Andrea: (in an interview segment) Our team has won zero-- zero challenges. I really don't think the guys know what Hell's Kitchen's all about until you lose a challenge.
