Episode Summary

Before heading back up to the dorms for the evening, the remaining chefs are presented with a surprise-- their friends and family. Re-energized by the surprise, they head into the next day's challenge with renewed confidence and are given 90 minutes to prepare 100 portions each of a dish of their choice for a group of 100 mystery guests. The guests turn out to be 100 chefs and one of the aspiring chefs receives glowing ratings, while another is humbled when their dish is heavily panned. The winning chef is sent off for a makeover and appears the next day with Chef Ramsay on Good Day Live. The two losing chefs endure cleaning and laundering. During the service, each of the chefs is given a chance at running the pass. All experience highs and lows, but all three put in an overall strong service. Chef Ramsay is left with a tough choice in deciding the final two.

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Rewards Challenge: Chef Ramsay gave the three remaining chefs 90 minutes to prepare 100 portions each of any dish they chose for a group of mystery guests, which turned out to be 100 chefs.

Reward: Paula won the challenge with an olive-oil poached sturgeon with a crispy potato and and creme fraiche, as well a salad of arugula, radishes and osetra caviar. Her reward came in two parts. First, she traveled to Mark Slicker's for a makeover, including makeup and a full manicure and pedicure. The next day, she prepared a dish on Good Day Live with Chef Ramsay.

Punishment: The punishment also came in two parts. Danny and Andrea had to stay behind at Hell's Kitchen and clean up all of the tables, then set up the room ahead of the next day's dinner service. They also had to steam, iron, starch and fold every cloth. The next day, they were made to do vacuuming and clean off the plasma TVs, as well as watch Paula's appearance on Good Day Live.

      • Nominees for Elimination: Chef Ramsay asked the remaining three chefs to each nominate one of the other two for elimination, but did not require them to come to a consensus. Danny and Andrea nominated each other, while Paula nominated Andrea. Chef Ramsay asked both her and Danny to step forward to justify themselves.
        Eliminated: Andrea

    • QUOTES (16)

      • Andrea: (on running the pass) I'm not afraid of speaking out loud. A lot of people are pretty shocked when I do put on my assertive panties in the morning and, you know, get in your face.

      • Andrea: (when Paula returns from her spa day) No Brazilian wax?
        Paula: No Brazillian wax.
Andrea: Good thing- you'll be able to walk tomorrow.

      • Chef Ramsay: (to the 100 visiting chefs) Los Angeles must be starving, because you're all here.

      • Andrea: I came, I performed, I gave it my best. And I'm taking the bronze home as far as I'm concerned.

      • Chef Ramsay: (to Andrea, whom he has just eliminated) Let me just say this. You are one hell of a determined fighter. An asset in any kitchen.

      • Chef Ramsay: Look closely. Do you notice anything different?
        Paula: Your hair?
Chef Ramsay: My hair? No, not my **** hair.

      • Andrea: You cook it, it doesn't cook you, Scott!
        Scott: We're gonna have a **** problem.

      • Andrea: Come on! I need Dory now!
        Scott: Dory right now.
Andrea: Christmas is coming now. I need it now.
        Scott: So is the Dory.

      • Andrea: (in an interview segment) Danny is 23 years old and he's talked a big game, but I just feel that his age showed tonight.

      • Chef Ramsay: (to Paula, who is at the pass) You're like a mouse with no voice. Let's go.

      • Chef Ramsay: I don't wanna wait for this first table. It's got to go. It's got to go, it's got to go1
        Andrea: Coming right now, Chef!
Chef Ramsay: Yeah, so is **** Christmas, madam. Let's go.

      • Jean-Philippe: The screen looks perfect. It's not as shiny as when Paula was on the screen.

      • Andrea: (watching Paula on "Good Day Live") Oh my God. Paula, you bitch! God, I wanna do that. That is awesome!

      • Andrea: (in an interview segment) Paula slammed it and she's a-- she's a brilliant chef and as much as it pains me to say it, she was, uh, steps ahead of both Danny and I.

      • Danny: (after messing up in the reward challenge) I was embarrassed. I was standing in front of all these chefs. And these are the elite. For them to think so lowly of me just kills me, man.

      • Danny: (in an interview segment) Andrea is somewhere else, in left field. I think that Andrea's gonna crumble under the pressure.
