  • Arguable elimination.

I'll be honest. I think two people should have been eliminated this episode. Fran and Salvatore. They had an ok performance but I reckon they should be eliminated so that the standards should be more lifted. At the same time it would have been ok if noone had been eliminated because their service wasn't horrible.I can understand Gordon from wanting to kick off the loose ends, and Salvatore did mess up frequent.

Good thing is that the real challenge is yet to come. I think the best chefs are Benjamin, Jason, Jay, Ed, and Nilka. Counting Jason out because he has an atitude and Gordon always kicks people with attitude, I'd say the real deal will be in the top 4.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Rewards Challenge: In this episode of the show, Hell's Kitchen played host to the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Sal and Marcy Locacia. For the challenge, the teams had to provide their updates on the three dishes served at the original wedding reception-- chicken kiev, steak diane and trout almondine.

Reward / Punishment: The dishes for each team were judged by both Sal and Marcy. The results ended up being a tie, which was left to Chef Ramsay to break. Chef Ramsay decided in favor of the Red Team. For winning, they got to step back to the 1950s by traveling to a 50's themed restaurant, Frisco's carhops, in a '55 and '58 convertible. For losing, the Blue Team was made to transform the dining room for the anniversary celebration by making a dance floor, created centerpieces and preparing a three-tiered wedding cake.

    • Nominees for Elimination: The Red Team lost in this episode and Chef Ramsay told them to come to a consensus on two chefs to nominate for elimination. Fran was nominated for slowing down the team and Siobhan was nominated for not being a good cook and having no technical experience or passion for food.

Eliminated: Neither. Despite the Red Team's loss, Chef Ramsay decided there was one chef that was worse than anyone else. Since Salvatore had only one good service out of seven, Ramsay told him to take off his jacket and leave Hell's Kitchen.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Chef Ramsay: Salvatore had a big heart. Too bad he couldn't cook with it.

    • Jay: (in an interview segment) I think Sal has mashed potatoes between his ears. I, personally, am starting to lose my patience with him.

    • Chef Ramsay: (explaining why Benjamin's overcooked crab cakes aren't acceptable) When it's brown, it's cooked. When it's black, it's ****ed.

    • Jay: (in an interview segment) Salvatore dropped the ball a little bit once again. He has the Midas touch in the bad way where everything he sort of touches goes to ****.
