Episode Summary

EDIT

The four remaining chefs are challenged to teach bachelors how to cook monkfish. The winning chef and a chosen guest get to ride the Goodyear Blimp, while the users are forced to do repairs in Hell's Kitchen, clean up the parking lot and then prep for service. In the hopes of improving service, Chef Ramsay allows the chefs to choose their stations. There are some initial hangups, with one chef accused of sabotaging another. Following these difficulties, however, the rest of the service goes smoothly, with one chef in particular standing out. That chef is forced to make a difficult decision. At the elimination, Chef Ramsay gives the chefs a delightful surprise.

This episode proved Jay's class...This guy is the only Executive Chef left-so sick experience and skill-and he showed da advantages in this episode...First with the rookie cook, which he efortlessly teached how to make monk fish(better than Benjamin I might add who is an instructor)then with the regular service where he killed...Honestly I don't think he could loose the win..The other are just "good".Jay's a leader, just like Gordon likes it...The finish was delighting where the families are brought and let the contestants share a moment...A real plus was Jay not nominating Hollie...I liked it... I think in the next episodes things are gonna get brutal...But Jay will finish on top..

This is really easy and no competition exists...Strangely so...moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Goof: As the chefs were walking away after elimination, you can tell that it was footage from the previous episode because Chef Ramsay had a jacket in his hand, and they were in the exact same order.

    • Rewards Challenge: To begin this challenge, the chefs watched Chef Ramsay prepare a dish of monkfish and then got to taste it. Their challenge was then to each try to teach a bachelor with zero cooking experience how to cook the dish. The winner was the one whose bachelor most closely recreated the dish.

Reward / Punishment: Jay won this challenge as Chef Ramsay felt that his bachelor, Rick, cooked the dish pretty much perfectly, with only one minor nitpick. For winning, he got to take a ride on the Goodyear blimp with the fellow chef of his choice, Holli. The losers, Benjamin and Autumn, had to do repair work on Hell's Kitchen, clean up the parking lot and then prep for dinner service, which was being held that evening.

    • Nominees for Elimination: Following what Chef Ramsay felt was the best dinner service yet, he declared Jay to be the best of the best and told him to choose two chefs to nominate for elimination. Jay's first nominee was Autumn, for having had several rough services and not doing too well overall. His second nominee was Benjamin, on the basis that Holli really hadn't had any bad services, so choosing Benjamin was the lesser of two evils.

Eliminated: Nobody. As all of the chefs had had such a good service, Chef Ramsay couldn't bring himself to eliminate everything. Instead, he let them all have a visit with family members. Next week, however, two chefs will be eliminated.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Chef Ramsay: I decided to let all the chefs enjoy tonight's successful dinner service but what they don't know is after the next dinner service, I'll be cutting the field in half.

    • Jay: (in an interview segment) I was sort of down and I went from zero to hero.

    • Chef Ramsay: (to Benjamin, still trying to get him to communicate) You have got to do it! Look at me! Time is running out for you!

    • Chef Ramsay: Benjamin, talk to your brigade!
Benjamin: Was that an order, Chef? I'm sorry.

    • Holli: (in an interview segment) In normal, everyday kitchens that I've worked in, I've never had a compliment yelled at me.

    • Jay: (in an interview segment) There's no reason if we communicate properly that we can't have a perfect service.

    • Holli: (as she and Jay fly in the Goodyear Blimp over Hell's Kitchen) They're gonna be so pissed off.
Autumn: (reading a message scrolling across the blimp) 'Losers, hope you're enjoying punishment.'

    • Benjamin: (in an interview segment) It was a double punishment today. Being alone with Autumn, that was the biggest punishment.
