Episode Summary

EDIT

The remaining aspiring chefs visit a sandwich shop and then are tasked to create their own unique sandwiches. The winning team spends a day in California's wine country, while the losers are forced to grind peanuts for use in a sandwich in the next day's dinner service. Overindulgence during the reward leads to late night shenanigans and sluggishness the next day. The dinner service proves disastrous for both teams, due to a number of mistakes. For the first time in the season, Chef Ramsay kicks out both teams well before service can be completed.

  • Best episode this season.

As much as I liked Siobhan's style I have to agree with Gordon. Getting pushed of your station is unforgivable. That doesn't mean I don't understand her. she had just gotten kicked off and know was trying to stay off the radar.

Having to much respect for someone proves wrong sometimes. Being to good a person is wrong. She should have told Benjamin to go f*** himself. As Gordon said in an earlier episode good guys finish last. I was surprised to see only one elimination. By how this episode went I was sure they were going to kick two.Autumn was a sure candidate.moreless
  • Who will get eliminated in this 2 hour episode? My guess will be Salvatore from the Blue Team and Siobahn from the Red Team.

Last week everyone's favorite egomaniac Scott was eliminated for being the "worst cook" after screwing up on dinner services. Now this week I wasn't surprised that Salvatore would be eliminated.Gordon was fiery to one customer who was trying to do battle with regarding steak tatare. This is a first on since the airing of the series. I enjoyed how the Red and Blue Team were successful in the dinner servies for a 50th wedding anniversary party. Of the course the highlight of the episode was when the Blue did their version of "The Hangover" without the roofies, strippers and Las Vegas but it was enough to see that Gordon was not amused. Not to mention one of the chefs going fully nude in the hot tub.

Guess we'll have to wait for the uncesored version of this episode to come out on DVD. At any rate, a great episode!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Rewards Challenge: In this challenge, the chefs were tasked to create gourmet sandwiches. Each chef got to create their own sandwich and the team with the most points would win. Since the Red Team had an extra member, they were told to choose the sandwich that they felt was the worst to sit out from the challenge.

Reward / Punishment: The challenge ended in a tie, so Chef Ramsay asked to taste the sandwich that the Red Team had chosen to exclude, which was Siobhan's. He declared it to be better than Fran's and dubbed the Blue Team the winners, as the Red Team made the mistake of excluding Siobhan's sandwich. For winning, the Blue Team got to travel by private jet to the Rosemount Estates, part of California's central wine country, for a wine-tasting. For losing, the Red Team had to shell and grind peanuts to be used in peanut butter, jam and foie gras sandwiches being served as an amuse-bouche appetizer at the next evening's dinner service.

    • Nominees for Elimination: Both teams were kicked out of the kitchen well before service could be completed and neither team was declared the winning team. As such, both were made to a consensus on two chefs to nominate for elimination. The Blue Team nominated Autumn for being late on garnishes and slowing down the team & Ed for trying to send out raw duck. The Red Team nominated Siobhan for not being able to handle any of the dishes and being kicked off her station and Fran for being disorganized, difficult to work with and not communicating.

      Eliminated: Siobhan.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Chef Ramsay: Siobhan got pushed around a lot in Hell's Kitchen. So it was up to me to finally push her out.

    • Benjamin: (in an interview segment, regarding the Red Team) They're a bunch of yahoos. It's frustrating.

    • Chef Ramsay: (regarding Fran's risottos) You're about as **** consistent as pigeon **** on Trafalgar Square.

    • Siobhan: (in an interview segment) Oh my God. The quiet, reserved, Ed had turned into, like, a wild animal.

    • (The Blue Team has gotten very drunk during their reward and Ed ends up getting even more drunk)
Holli: (in an interview segment) I may have encouraged Ed to drink a little bit more. (in the hot tub) Cheers, Ed.
      Ed: Salud, Holli.
Holli: (in the interview segment) Ed is completely trashed, so it was kinda funny.

    • Jason: (in an interview segment) When they say winning is not everything, they lie.

    • Siobhan: (in an interview segment) By far, Benjamin has it out for me. He thinks he's this hot shot and stuff. If I can prove to myself that I can kick some butt, Chef Ramsay sees that, that's all that matters. His opinion to me? I don't give a ****!
