Hell's Kitchen - Season 7

The four remaining chefs are given a taste of the Savoy Grill, then told to recreate one of the dishes that they just tasted. A chef makes a bold move that doesn't pay off, while the winner of the challenge spends time with their family on a yacht. The losers are forced to clean the dorms of the detritus of past contestants. The next day, one of the losers awakes with heavy back pain that threatens to take them out of the competition. Following a near-quit, this contestant vows to push through. During the evening's dinner service, Chef Ramsay tests each chef by having them run the pass. Each of them face sabotage during their turn at the hot plate, but not all catch it. Following the service, Chef Ramsay eliminates two chefs, revealing the final two that will compete in the grand finale.

The four remaining chefs are challenged to teach bachelors how to cook monkfish. The winning chef and a chosen guest get to ride the Goodyear Blimp, while the users are forced to do repairs in Hell's Kitchen, clean up the parking lot and then prep for service. In the hopes of improving service, Chef Ramsay allows the chefs to choose their stations. There are some initial hangups, with one chef accused of sabotaging another. Following these difficulties, however, the rest of the service goes smoothly, with one chef in particular standing out. That chef is forced to make a difficult decision. At the elimination, Chef Ramsay gives the chefs a delightful surprise.

The five remaining aspiring chefs are presented with a challenge that requires them to cook for cheap. They visit a local fresh food market and purchase $10 worth of ingredients each in ten minutes, then are given 30 minutes to create a dish using these ingredients. The dishes are judged by a panel of special guest judges. The winning chef is given a day at a poolside cabana with Jean-Philippe and a following chef, followed by a $1,000 shopping spree at a kitchen supply store. The losers are subjected to Hell's Kitchen laundry day. A romance develops between two of the chefs. At the evening service, Chef Ramsay challenges the chefs to communicate by making them continuously switch stations throughout service. Some chefs rise to the challenge, while others clam up and fail to communicate.

The six remaining aspiring chefs work together for the first time as one team. The chefs compete in their first individual challenge, requiring them to create dishes that not only taste good, but also look fantastic. The top two dishes are judged on taste, with the winner's dish appearing in a magazine and the winner receiving a mani/pedi treatment and haircut. The losers are punished with making over the Hell's Kitchen dining room. During the evening's service, Chef Ramsay looks for a leader to emerge, but finds generally poor communication all around. Particularly weak performance on the part of two chefs gets them kicked out of the kitchen.

The chefs are challenged to create their own unique lobster dishes. The dishes are judged by Michelin-starred chefs, with Gordon Ramsay left to break a tie after two chefs' dishes are rejected for simply not being cooked to par. The winning team enjoys a visit to a caviar house followed by a shopping spree, while the losing team is made to clean the dorms, then prep both kitchens for service. Gordon Ramsay delivers a surprise by ordering the two teams to work together to complete a dinner service with a time limit of 2 and 1/2 hours. The pressure proves too much for one, leading to a complete meltdown and ejection during service. The dinner service, however, is ultimately a great success, leading to another surprise at the elimination.

Chef Ramsay fools the remaining chefs with a frozen dinner, then tests their palates in a blind taste test. Blindfolded and earmuffed, the chefs taste a number of ingredients. Both teams perform poorly, but the winning team gets to enjoy a day at SeaWorld, while the losers are made to unload deliveries of trout. Both teams are given the opportunity to design their own menu, consisting of four appetizers, four entrees and four desserts. At the dinner service, one team receives an overwhelming number of orders, forcing them hustle to keep up. Despite this, both teams end up losing the service, leading to a tough elimination.

The remaining aspiring chefs visit a sandwich shop and then are tasked to create their own unique sandwiches. The winning team spends a day in California's wine country, while the losers are forced to grind peanuts for use in a sandwich in the next day's dinner service. Overindulgence during the reward leads to late night shenanigans and sluggishness the next day. The dinner service proves disastrous for both teams, due to a number of mistakes. For the first time in the season, Chef Ramsay kicks out both teams well before service can be completed.

For the seventh dinner service of the season, Hell's Kitchen plays host to a fiftieth wedding anniversary. The chefs are challenged to update the classic dishes served at the original wedding reception of the guests of honor. The winning team enjoys a 50's flashback day, while the losers are forced to decorate Hell's Kitchen. During prep, one chef suffers a gruesome injury. For the evening's service, two chefs are sent out to the dining room to serve tableside steak diane. Despite having a new leader, one team struggles greatly during dinner service. Chef Ramsay delivers a twist at the evening's elimination.

The remaining chefs are tasked with a challenge requiring them to create dishes using the classic mother sauces. When the challenge ends in a tie, the result rests on one dish. The winning team is treated to a day at an English pub, while the losers are made to clean out the Hell's Kitchen ovens and then prep both kitchens for service. Chef Ramsay surprises the teams by announcing that Hell's Kitchen is a having a family night with a kids' menu. Both teams struggle with the service, but one delivers a disastrously bad performance and is kicked out, leaving Chef Ramsay and his sous chefs to complete it. It leads up to the elimination of one chef who seemed to have a great over-inflated opinion of their strengths.

Two chefs try to handle the pressure of changing over to a different team. The chefs are presented with a challenge that requires them to cook dishes involving cuts of pork and side items. The losing team is made to clean pigs, while the winners enjoy a day of relaxation at a spa. Chef Ramsay surprises the chefs with the first ever Hell's Kitchen barbecue service. With the dining room overbooked, Chef Ramsay holds a double-seating, with the two teams switching between cooking and serving in the dining room. The pressure gets to both teams, leading to the first incomplete service all season. Rivalries within a particular team cause it to begin to fall apart.

The two teams are challenged two each create a dish based on ingredients chosen by rolling dice with letters on them. Though one team makes some strange choices, the results end up being close, with the final determination coming down to the quality of the cooking rather than the nature of the dishes. The winning team enjoys a thrilling day experiencing a wind-tunnel, while the losers are made to clean up the front of the house and then prep both kitchens for service. During this prep, one chef has a breakdown and has to be brought back from the brink. The evening's dinner service features a number of flops, but also some surprisingly strong cooking from several chefs, including one that Chef Ramsay had been riding particularly hard to date. A surprise comes at the evening's elimination when Chef Ramsay makes a sudden change-up.

Chef Ramsay decides to focus on teamwork and challenges the two teams to serve lunch to members of the USC Trojans marching band. The chefs cook burgers, salads and fries, with the winning team being the one that completes service first. The winners enjoy a day at the beach, while the losers clean a portion of the L.A. River under the supervision of a relief group. Before service, one chef burns their hand and chooses to hide the injury. During that service, two chefs are made assistant Maître d's and given a taste of the front of the house. In the kitchens, issues with meat and garnishes slow down service, but both teams once again manage to complete service. This leaves Ramsay with a tough decision, as another chef is eliminated and loses out on a chance to work at the Savoy Hotel.

The chefs are presented with a challenge that requires them to cook eggs four different ways. During the challenge, one chef is told to work alone, but gets in trouble for getting help. The winners of the challenge are sent on a helicopter tour of Los Angeles followed by a champagne afterglow, while the losers are made to unload and then gut and fillet a large tuna. At dinner service, two chefs are assigned to serve tuna tartare tableside while the remainder struggle through another challenging service. One chef proves unequal and is kicked out of the kitchen, then makes a decision of their own. Chef Ramsay provides a shock at the evening's elimination when he finds himself unsatisfied with the choices made as to which chefs were nominated for elimination.

Chef Ramsay introduces himself to the 16 new contestants by announcing that they are expected to complete their very first dinner service. He then divides them into two teams, men vs. women, and sends them to the kitchen to prepare their signature dishes. The chefs present the dishes as part of the first challenge between the Red Team and the Blue Team. Several chefs impress Ramsay with their dishes, while others simply fall flat or even shock Chef Ramsay. The losing team is made to provide breakfast in bed for the winners the next morning. Trying to give the chefs some extra guidance to fulfill his guarantee of a completed service, Ramsay gives the chefs a series of late-night video lessons. Despite this, the first dinner service is a struggle, with several chefs being kicked out of the kitchen and Ramsay resorting to drastic measures.
