The winning chef receives an astounding perfect score of 100/100, getting top marks for both presentation and taste. They are rewarded with a tour of the prize restaurant L.A. Market and are given the opportunity to take one other aspiring chef again. The losing chefs are made to clean the dorms, then prep the kitchen for service, being held that evening. Before service, Chef Ramsay tries to inspire the chefs by presenting them with a platter of money. Chef Ramsay tests the chefs' teamwork by thrusting them into a challenge requiring them to cook three appetizers in thirty minutes in turns, with only 15 seconds to communicate in-between switching. The winning team is rewarded with a shopping spree at a cooking store, while the losing team is placed on delivery duty. Additionally, one chef suffers a minor burn to their hand during the challenge. That evening, two chefs on the winning team stay up late in the hot tub and get wasted on beer, and they end up feeling the full effects during the next day's service. During the service, one chef gets kicked out and another very much sinks their team. Chef Ramsay decides that there are no winners and has everyone make a nomination, but decides the elimination based on performance during the service. He gives the remaining chefs their black jackets, merging them into one team.

He challenges the chefs to a blind taste test and another of them proves to be a standout, allowing their team to enjoy a day of shopping, followed by dining in a top restaurant. The losers are made to sort trash for recycling. The Red Team, having been on a winning streak, finds themselves eager to continue that streak during service. It proves to be a tough service, with several chefs kicked out and only one left standing in one particular kitchen. Hoping to find leadership and stoke passion, Chef Ramsay swaps the teams of two of the aspiring chefs. For the day's challenge, each chef is asked to create a unique salad and the team with the most favored salads wins. The challenge ends in a tie, so the victory is determined by the single best salad. The winning team enjoys lunch at the Getty Villa, with the creator of the best salad getting his work featured on Bon Appetit. The losing team is made to clean, prep and set up both kitchens ahead of service, which is being held that evening. During the evening's dinner service, the aspiring chefs face the added pressure of serving celebrities at chef's tables. Some rise to the challenge, while others find themselves on fire or kicked out. Though service is completed, Chef Ramsay finds it to be filled with speed bumps and decides that there is no winning team. He then goes on his own to determine the evening's elimination.
