  • Hellsing the way it's supposed to be.

    10
The original Hellsing show was a great effort, but it deviated too much from the manga. Indeed, after the first couple of eps, they really stopped having anything in common save the name.

This new show captures the look, feel and most importantly, violence from the manga. In graphic detail you see Alucard ripping people and not-quite people apart, many many bystanders get caught in the way, and Alucard is damn near unstoppable. There will be a total of 10 episodes released, one for each chapter in the manga.

They are just under an hour long and so far 6 episodes have been released. Only 4 (I think) have been dubbed though, but if you like anime and are indeed reading this, then you probably prefer the Jap anyway. With subs, of course.

The 7th is being released on the 24th December 2009.

If you like anime, enjoy manga and love excessive, stylized cartoon violence- it really doesn't get any better than this.

  • Hellsing OVA takes your into the world of hellsing far more then the original show could ever have hoped.

    8.9
Hellsing OVA or ultimate is sort of a remix to the orginal hellsing. The show is all about an organization thats soul duty is to eliminate any demons/vampires/ ghouls that show up. In this organization they have recruited a vampire by the name of Alucard ( hmm wonder what that spells backwards) who is a vampire himself but soul duty is to protect humans instead of hurt them. He is imortal of course but even some of the things that happen to him like swords through the heart, thousand of bullets hitting him or even getting his head shot off doesnt seem to stop him. He soon into the show turns a young police girl of victoria in a vampire and from there they go on hunting and killing. Hellsing OVA is for more mature audience's and contains alot more gore/blood/ and sexual themes then the original. But it is all that action and blood that makes the show great. It is just pure violence the whole time and never seems to end. It definitaly gets your heart pounding. The story is decent although in the first episode they do seem to quickly run thru most of the events from the orginal. The first two episodes are a little dull but the third and fourth are so action packed it was worth the wait. In fact the story is all about Nazi Vampires which is a little strange but whatever. Visually the show is pretty nice compared to some other anime shows and it does look alot better then the original show. All in all if your looking for a great anime show to watch, as long as your old enough, this is a great pick. Its got action, blood, a good story, very crazy weapons, and even has small bits of a love story in it. This is probably one of the better anime shows you will see. Lets hope they add some more episodes in the future.moreless
