      • Weber's Der Freischutz
Rip Van Winkle's favorite song somewhat mirrors her fate. She is proud and a skilled hunter like the opera's protagonist Gasper; while Alucard is the far more sinister and powerful like the black hunter Samiel. Ultimately, Samiel kills Gasper just like Alucard kills Rip. It is unknown if Alucard actually provided Rip with her powers back in WWII, which would therefore make their similarities to Samiel and Gasper much more accurate; since the former provided the latter with their hunter abilities.
