Paul Dini always knew how to make some really go stories and this is one of them. Obviously inspired by Star Trek's Arena. What I loved about the episode was the fact that for once Adam doesn't use the sword or is unable to, for once he fights as himself. This episode in a way gives Adam hope because it just goes to show their might be a possibility that one day he won't need to use the sword of power anymore he'll be able to fight his own battles and win. But the only thing I thing that for me lets this episode down is that fight between Adam and the monster wasn't long enough and the whole thing was resolved to easily when Adam had the sword of power in his hands. I think it would of worked a lot better if they just let Adam win as himself and not turn into He-Man at all. Oh, well it's still a good episode worth watching.moreless

    • Didn't the Game Master hear Prince Adam say "By the Power of Grayskull" and you think he'd be wondering where the light show and thunder was coming from? Edit
    • Why did Adam take out the Sword of Power when riding Stridor? There was no need to draw the sword at all! Like in other 'missing sword' episodes, such as "Disappearing Act", it was done purely for plot convenience. Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • This episode features an appearance of a prototype version of Stridor, the mechanical horse who later appeared in "Origin of the Sorceress". Edit

    • Orko: Today He-Man was forced to play a dangerous game by the Game Master. The Game Master bragged a lot about winning all the time, but he became angry when he lost and said it wasn't fair. Well playing games can be a lot of fun, but boasting when you win, or getting angry when you lose spoils the fun for everyone, and pretty soon, nobody will want to play with you. So take a tip from me, be a good winner and a good loser. You'll enjoy your games more and so will the people who play with you. Good luck and goodbye! Edit
    • He-Man: Just between us, Teela. What kind of a man would you prefer? Someone like Adam, or someone like me. Teela: I don't know. I guess I'm looking for a man with Adam's wit...and your courage. But where would I find him?! Edit
