Episode Summary

EDIT
Skeletor and his latest allies, the tribal-like Torgs, are trying to awaken Mulkram, a giant, diabolical monster who was frozen by the Elders centuries ago to stop his reign of terror. He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Orko, and Ram Man are in the city of Avion for the once-a-year ceremony where Stratos presents the magical Staff of Avion to his people, but just as the ceremony is about to begin, the Torgs attack, capturing Stratos and the staff. Skeletor intends to use the staff's amazing powers to awaken Mulkram, and to use the mighty creature to enter Castle Grayskull...moreless

Reign of the Monster was a superb episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I liked the story though it was more or less the same as any other. The monster was different but Skeletor's plots towards Castle Grayskull remain strong. I was entertained and in suspense. The moral lesson was good. I look forward to watching the next episode!!!!!!!!!

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • This is the only episode of the entire series that Prince Adam does not appear in. He is in the form of He-Man for the entire episode. (Adding to the episode's noticable feel of the early figure's mini-comics).

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Orko: Boy, the fruit on that tree looks good enough to eat doesn't it? That's like a lot of things you might find around your house or in your neighborhood. But looks can fool you. Sometimes things that look or smell good can make you very sick. Remember never taste or eat anything if you're not sure what it is. The best thing to do is ask a grown up who knows. Remember it's better to be safe than sorry. Until next time!

    • Skeletor: At last! Grayskull is mine!
He-Man: (grabbing Skeletor) Going somewhere, Skeletor?
Skeletor: Very well, He-Man. Another time! (disappears)
      He-Man: Anytime you like.

  • NOTES (1)

    • This is the only episode where we see Stratos' sister, Delora. Interestingly enough, in other canons she was his wife rather than his sister, and she was originally intended to be his wife in the cartoon as well, but was made his sister instead in case young male viewers would see Stratos as 'sissy' if he had a love interest.
