Episode Summary

EDIT
Granamyr summons He-Man to Darksmoke, and He-Man follows his call accompanied by Man-At-Arms, who wishes to thank Granamyr for helping save his life (in "The Dragon's Gift"). Granamyr explains that a young dragon called Torm has fallen in love with a human princess, Lyra, and wants to become human in order to marry her. But Lyra's father, Brindle, will only allow any man to marry her if he passes a series of tests. Only a human can take these tests, and Granamyr wants He-Man to take them on behalf of Torm. He-Man agrees, but as he undertakes the tests he faces danger from an evil sorcerer called Zim, who wants to marry Lyra himself.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • The characters Brindle and Zim are both re-used from "A Friend in Need", in which they appeared as Zicran and Jarvan respectively.

      • This is another episode along with "Eternal Darkness" in which we see Man-At-Arms without his helmet.

      • The moral of this episode is Fighting. Fighting never proves anything, trying to find a peacuful way to settle a problem is usually the best way. If someone calls you a coward or a chicken, don't let it worry you, it often takes more courage not to fight.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • King Randor: Helping his dragon friends sure kept He-Man busy today, and Brindle's tests were pretty tough. In one of those tests to prove his courage he was challenged to a fight, but He-Man wouldn't fight.
He-Man: The fact is, fighting never proves anything. Trying to find a peaceful way to settle a problem is usually the best way. And if someone calls you a 'coward' or a 'chicken,' don't let it worry you. If often takes more courage not to fight. Until later, bye now.

      • Shadow-wing: Granamyr! I have returned for you!

      • Granamyr: And now, wretched worm, feel the wrath of Granamyr.

      • Granamyr: A dragon in love! The world will never be the same.

      • He-Man: Well, I'll do my best.
Granamyr: I expect no more...and no less.

      • Granamyr: On the day of their wedding, Torm shall undergo a great spell of changing and become human. He will never again know the joy of flying freely, nor the power of dragonkind. And he will live...not thousands of years, but only the pitiful few of a human.

      • Granamyr: This is Torm--the youngest dragon of Darksmoke. He is in love with a female of your kind.
Torm: Her name is Lyra, and she is the sweetest, most gently being I have ever known.
Granamyr: She is small and foolish, like most humans. But love...blinds even a dragon at times.

      • Granamyr: Welcome, He-man! I thank you for accepting my invitation... but I did not inite YOU, however.
He-man: This is my friend, Man-at-Arms, the one you saved from Skeletor's evil spell when we first met. He wanted to thank you in person.
Granamyr: Poor excuse for bad manners.
