This is a Halloween episode, and a fairly good one. It is certainly better than season three's rather silly Halloween episode 'Mummy Dearest'.
It takes its time to really get going, but once it does, it is quite a good story, although it could have used some polishing here and there.
Once the story DOES get going, it has some exciting moments; and when Hercules is captured for Vlad to drink his blood, you really wonder how – or if – he is going to escape.
Iolaus starting to turn into a vampire has some good moments too.
It is definitely the best episode this season thus far (well, anything's better than the terrible 'Love, Amazon Style', and 'Rebel With a Clue' wasn't much to write home about either!).
