Nemesis allowed her love for Hercules to get in the way of her orders from Hera. As punishment, the evil goddess turned Nemesis into a mortal. Hera then created the Enforcer - a deadly, inhuman assassin bent on killing Hercules. Disguised as a beautiful woman, the Enforcer left Iolaus near death before finding Hercules. Nemesis tried to stop the Enforcer on her own, but her effort was in vain. Finally Hercules arrived and, after a wearying battle, he vanquished his foe by throwing the Enforcer into a forge, destroying her forever.moreless

    Nemesis, Hercules' childhood love, becomes a fallen god and Hera replaces her with a mindless "Enforcer". Nemesis returns in this episode played by Teresa Hill the same awesome lady who played her previously (the 2nd to take the role) and she finally pisses off Hera enough to lose her Godly powers. Nemesis is really great here with Hercules and the love between them is always really sweet. I also loved the meeting between Iolaus and Nemesis where he learns he nearly fell to the God's wrath. I also like that while Nemesis embraces that she has things to learn about being human, she doesn't go crying into a corner afraid of a life without Godly gifts, she faces her new limitations head on. Not even dear ol' Ares did on the occassions where he lost his Godhood.
    The Enforcer is brilliantly portrayed by Karen Sheperd and as soon as she confronts Hercules you see the logic of Hera making the warrior a woman. Hercules is simply reluctant to fight a woman even if they're clearly a warrior and have a strong desire to kill him, he's a boy scout. Which is why I like to think of him as the Superman to Xena's Batman. I also found it intresting they choose water as the source of her as most people don't see water as powerful. Once Hercules let go though, the fight scenes were brilliantly done.
    Entertaining episode, not top notch but good all around.moreless

    This episode is unashamedly based on the cult movie 'The Terminator' (1984) and its sequel, 'Terminator 2' (1991).

    It is a coincidence that the 'Terminator' of this episode (The Enforcer) is a female; in the second Terminator sequel, 'Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines' (2003), the villain Terminator is indeed female.

    Karen Shepard looks great as the Enforcer, complete with big, black eyes.
    It is a clever shot that pans around the naked Enforcer after she first emerges from the sea; the camera shot pans around her bare body, carefully missing the more private bits, before finally swiveling around to her face, complete with aforementioned eyeballs.

    Meanwhile, Hera, tired of Nemesis refusal to follow her orders, takes her powers away, leaving her mortal. [spoiler] I like how this plot line is resolved by the outcome of the episode, leaving it to be on-going. [end of spoiler]

    This is an enjoyable and exciting episode, although I didn't find it as well told or as well paced as some of the others of the season.moreless

    • The Enforcer: Hera says, 'Kill Hercules'. Hercules: Yeah, I know, but she never has the courage to say it to my face.

    • Iolaus: Wait a minute, you're the Enforcer! You're supposed to be dead! The Enforcer: I'm back. The Enforcer is a take-off on the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie The Terminator. That's the reason the actress played the role in such a robotic way. Also, Arnold became famous for the Terminator's line, "I'll be back", so the Enforcer's line is another strong echo of the character.
