Warships and their crews that sailed the seas were the power of the seas and the force behind our military might during both World Wars. Hero Ships visits some of these gallant warships, now floating museums that are a testament to those who served aboard them.

    This series chronicles the stories of the famous fighting ships in our museums and defending us today. To know the importance of these vessels one only has to note that all 3 ships of the Yorktown class aircraft carriers are immortalized here. Many people drive by these museums without giving them a second thought. But if they watched this series they would have a new appreciation of the history and sacrifice right under thier noses. The men who fought and died aboard this gallant vessels did so defending our freedoms and are deserved of these memorials. Many of these ships are gone now, but thier legend lives on.
