Young Angela: Say "Good night", Alice.
Young Alice: Good night, Alice.That was an allusion to the classic lines from the radio show (later a TV show) Burns & Allen. Every night George would say goodnight to the audience and Gracie would apparently forget to do so. He would turn to her and say "Say 'good night', Gracie.' She would then reply "Good night, Gracie." At the time this scene takes place, the series would only have been off the air for about three years, so the sisters would certainly know the joke.
