Trivia

FILTER BY TYPE

  • Trivia

    • When Hiro stops time in order to see the murderer's face, Ando's mouth is open. Then, when the camera comes back to Ando again, his mouth is closed.

    • In the scene when Bob is talking to Claire in the football field at school. When Claire runs away from Bob, we can see three shadows, Bob's, Claire's and the cameraman who shot the scene.

    • When Noah and West arrive at the house to find Sandra tied up, her hands are behind the chair in the long shot, but in the next close up you can briefly see that her hands are free, and sitting on her lap.

    • Goof: When West take off with Claire, they are flying toward the Sun but on the next shot, we see Mohinder looking up in the wrong direction according to his own shadow.

    • Elle is drinking a "Slusho" as she is waiting for Mr. Bennet to arrive.

Slusho is a fictional drink created by JJ Abrams for his series Alias. The director of this episode has also directed two episodes of that show which explains its appearance here.

Slusho was also the temporary name of JJ Abrams' 2008 monster movie Project: Cloverfield (in which Greg Grunberg who plays Matt Parkman has a part).

    • Goof: In the faraway shot when Elle directs her electric blast on West when he's flying with Claire, they begin to drop downward. But in the closeup shot afterward, they're still going upward before West is zapped prior to their dropping down.

    • The ending scene, in which Noah Bennet awakes from death, is reminiscent of the final scene of One Giant Leap (Season 1, Episode 3), in which Claire is similarly revived in a morgue and reacts with the exact same statement as Noah does here.

    • In the supposed Costa Verde scenes you can see the backgrounds of Santa Monica where some of the scenes were shot, like the rides at Pacific Park Amusement Park.

  • Quotes

    • (West is holding Noah while he flies very high)
West: Remember me? Then you know I don't have super-strength. I can't hold on forever.
      Noah: What do you want?
      West: Answers.
Noah: We took you to study your ability.
West: No, I don't care about any of that. Claire. Was she working with you? Or for you? Did she ever really care about me?
Noah: Claire never even mentioned you existed. You hear me? She lied to me. So I'm guessing you're pretty important to her.

    • Bob: Have you been working on your sharpshooting? I don't want you to get too close to Bennet.
      (To Mohinder)
Elle: Hey Fight Club, check this out.

    • Noah: I need to speak to your father.
Elle: What do you think, this is my first day?

    • Claire: No matter what I do, this is never gonna end, is it, Dad? We're always gonna be running.
Noah: Do not walk out of that door!
Claire: What are you gonna do? Tie me up?
Noah: If I have to. (grabs duct tape)

    • Matt: (to Molly) If you wanna help, help me put the nightmare man behind us, so we can get back to normal. Okay, and just be a little girl, go to school, have fun. And I'll be an underpaid cop. Deal?

    • West: You don't have to pretend anymore. The jig is kinda up, spygirl.
      Claire: I'm not pretending. And I'm not a spy, I swear. I just… I'm just a cheerleader.

    • Noah: Claire's right. It's all about me.

    • Kaito: We have the power of gods. That does not mean we can play God.

    • West: Right now I don't care about any of that. Claire. Is she working with you, or for you? Did she ever really care about me?
Noah: Claire never even mentioned you existed. You hear me? She lied to me. So I'm guessing you're pretty important to her.

    • Noah: I've got collateral.
Sandra: What do you mean, collateral?
West: (with an unconscious Elle draped over his shoulder) Hi, Mrs. Butler. It's good to, uh, see you again.

    • Noah: I was there. When your father first brought you in. You were a normal girl. Unicorns and rainbows, and then they started the testing. The human brain isn't built to take that much electricity. You poor girl.
Elle: My father would never let that happen.
Noah: Your father was leading the charge.

    • Noah: (to Elle) Why do you think I never let the company anywhere near Claire? I didn't want her to become you.

    • Angela Petrelli: If you visit me one more time, Detective Parkman, I'll expect you to make an honest woman out of me.
Matt: That is the plan, actually.

    • Angela Petrelli: (to Matt) All she wants is to be left alone. I made her a promise. If you take this secret from me you're not just like your father, you are him.

    • Noah: Did you pack Mr. Muggles' doggie bath?

    • Noah: You'd be surprised what a father will do for his daughter.

    • Angela Petrelli: The truth? The truth? The truth is that our generation mortgaged our souls to protect yours. Show a little respect for that. Get over your daddy issues, and leave us be.

    • Matt Parkman: There's something bigger going on here. I don't know what it is, but these guys are involved with some kind of organization. Like from back in the seventies.
      Det. Fuller: Like a disco?

    • Hiro: (speaking at his father's funeral in Japanese) I refuse to eulogize my father. To eulogize him is to admit he is gone. My father is not dead. Kaito Nakamura taught me right from wrong. What it means to be a hero. So long as his lessons live through me he will never die. My father taught me to understand that certain things are in God's hands. But for everything else God gave us the gift of choice. My father gave me the tools to fight the battles ahead. Every hand I extend in kindness is his hand and every blow I strike for justice is his fist. So long as the lessons he taught me stay in me and so long as he lives in my heart then my father is not truly dead.

    • Hiro: Sorry... oh my God, you are ...
Younger Hiro: I am Takezo Kensei.
      Hiro: Yes. (smiles)
(they both touch their glasses in the same way)
      Hiro: Yes, you are.

    • Sandra: They say girls tend to find boys just like their dads.
Noah: (referring to Nathan Petrelli) Because he can fly?
Sandra: No, her real dad, you. All he cares about is protecting her.

    • Elle: Don't you think if push came to shove, (Bennet) would do the same to you?
      Mohinder: No. I don't.
Elle: He's adorable! Can I keep him?

    • (West takes Claire home after the shooting)
Claire: The last thing I really said to my dad... was "I hate you."
      West: You didn't mean it.
Claire: No, I did. I keep playing it over and over. Now I'll never get a chance to take it back.

    • Bob: Dr. Suresh, I would like you to meet my daughter, Elle.
Mohinder: Your daughter? She's the executioner?
Elle: (to Mohinder with bandage on his nose) What's your super power, punching bag?

    • Noah: Stings like a bitch, doesn't it?

  • Allusions

    • Elle: Hey Fight Club, check this out!

This is a reference to the movie Fight Club (1999) staring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. Elle says it because Mohinder, like the main character of that movie, is beaten up and has a broken nose.
