FILTER BY TYPE

  • Trivia

    • In the scene where D.L. is shot, the shooter is on the left, off screen, and D.L. is on the right, off screen, with Niki in the middle. When the gun fires, it fires on the right hand side of the screen, yet the blood on Niki's face comes from the left hand side.

    • This season, Nathan Petrelli has longer hair and Peter's is shorter. With the flashback sequence in which Nathan carries Peter skyward (following from season 1's How to Stop an Exploding Man when their hair lengths were opposite), it's easy to tell that Adrian Pasdar has a slickback hairstyle to make it look shorter from last season and Milo Ventimiglia is wearing a wig to make his look longer.

    • Goof: Based on the events in the Season One episode "Company Man", the Haitian turned against The Company and went rogue. Furthermore, The Company didn't know where the Haitian was after he left Texas with Claire. So, why was he working with The Company to capture Peter and suppress his powers the night of the explosion? Furthermore, why was the Hatian working with Elle several weeks later to capture Peter and Adam when they escaped?

    • Goof: How does Peter still have his clothes after exploding and regenerating? Though his body could regenerate, the clothes would have been blasted off him upon exploding even if they didn't disintegrate.

    • The last flashback occurs three weeks prior to the present, and shows Nathan freshly recovered with the help of Adam's healing blood. Three weeks doesn't seem like nearly enough time for him to grow the amount of facial hair that he has when we first see him in Episode 1 of Season 2.

    • When Maya starts to produce black tears, the amount of them varies between shots.

    • Why didn't DL just phase through the bullet when he was shot? He was fast enough to phase through the guy's punch, and he didn't pull his gun out any faster than that.

  • Quotes

    • (Nathan is flying while holding Peter)
Peter: You gotta let me go, Nathan!
      Nathan: You go, I go!
Peter: No! I'll be okay. You can fly, I can't.
      Nathan: What do you mean?
Peter: It's taking everything in me, all my power not to explode! Let me go!

    • Peter: So I just take these pills every day?
Elle: Yep. It's a little cocktail they cooked up here in the lab. It controls the abilities. Dampens them.
Peter: Like that guy who was standing in the corner of Bob's office.
Elle: The Haitian. Yeah. Sort of. So, let's just call them "Haitian pills."

    • Elle: I accidentally set my grandmothers house on fire when I was six. I caused a blackout in four counties in Ohio when I was eight. I spent my ninth birthday in a glass room with an IV of Lithium in my arm. I've lived in this building for sixteen years, ever since the shrink's diagnosed me as a sociopath with paranoid delusions, but they were just out to get me because I threatened to kill them. I'm 24 years old and I've never gone on a date, never been on a roller coaster, never been swimming. And now you know everything there is to know about me. I don't have the luxury of being more interesting than that.

    • Bob: As long as your abilities are in control of you, you will always be a hazard; to yourself, to your family…
      Elle: To the whole world.
Peter: Believe me, if I could turn them off, I would.
Elle: Don't worry; we've done that for you.

    • Niki: No, I'm finished with Jessica!
Bob: How do you know a new personality won't emerge? I can get you all the help you need; the best care in the world.
      Niki: Uh-huh. What's the catch?
Bob: The catch is, you have to leave your family and enter the program.

    • Micah: We could be like the Fantastic Four. Minus one, but still…
D.L.: Micah, I wanna be a hero to you, and I think I finally found a way to do that. I think I got a job. A good job!
      Micah: Doing what?
D.L.: Something that's gonna make you proud of me, I promise.

    • Adam: (to Peter) Lemme guess, you were living a perfectly ordinary life until one day you discovered you could do incredible things. Bet it was wonderful at first, y'know, thought perhaps you could save the world. And then you realized, tragically, that you were dangerous. Why don't you talk to me after a decade? Actually, talk to me after three.

    • Peter: I remember. I remember everything.
Adam: Good, then. Shall we save the world?

    • Elle: Bye, Peter.
      Peter: Ahh... that hurts.
Elle: You'll get used to it. And then you'll start to like it.

    • Bob: He's not a toy, Elle.
      Elle: He could be.
      Peter: Where am I?
      Bob: Someplace safe.

    • Bob: But your brother. That's a different story. He almost died.
Elle: Because of you, Peter. Hey, it's not like it was your idea to go nuclear and take out half of New York City. (while playing with Peter's hair)

    • Peter: Day number five without the meds.
Adam: Then I think it's time to try. Come on, Peter. You can do it. (talking to Peter, when he is going through the wall)
Peter: It's nice to finally meet you. You know, for 400 years, you've held up pretty well.
Adam: Come on, let's go heal your brother.

    • Adam: Peter, what the hell was that?
      Peter: Do you know me?
Adam: Of course, I know you. Peter it's me, Adam. Don't you remember. Together we're going to change history.
      Peter: I'm sorry. I don't.
Adam: I see the Haitian has taken liberties with your mind.
      Peter: The Haitian?
Adam: That explains why you fell off the face of the earth. But you can get back your memory. I know how.
      Peter: How?
Adam: Healing. You can do what I can do. Which means the mind has to repair itself.
Peter: How do you suggest I go by doing that?
Adam: Think about what matters most to you. Do you know what that is?
(Peter pulls out a picture of Nathan and him from his pocket)
      Adam: His name is Nathan.
Peter: Nathan. (breathes in deeply) Nathan.

    • Niki: I thought I lost you.
D.L.: Girl, I told you. You're never getting rid of me.

    • Mohinder: (voiceover) There are many ways to define our fragile existence; many ways to give it meaning. But it is our memories that shape its purpose and give it context. The private assortment of images: fears, loves, regrets… for it's the cruel irony of life that we are destined to hold the dark with the light, the good with the evil, success with disappointment… this is what separates us, what makes us human. And in the end, we must fight to hold on to.

    • Mohinder: (voiceover) It is man's ability to remember that sets us apart. We are the only species concerned with past. Our memories give us voice and bear witness to history, so that others might learn; so they might celebrate our triumphs and be warned of our failures.

    • (Elle knocks out Peter)
Bob: Did you have to use the full blast on him?
      Elle: He can take it.

    • In the promo for this episode it mentions that we'll find out what happened to Sylar four months ago, but apart from one montage-related scene (where he doesn't even get a line) Sylar doesn't appear in this episode.

    • This is the second episode to feature the title name against a blank screen, rather than blended into the environment. (The first was "Four Months Later...")

    • Music Featured In This Episode:
"We Interrupt This Program" by Coburn

    • Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) and Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) don't appear in this episode. Aside from a brief clip from How to Stop an Exploding Man Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet) and Jack Coleman (Noah Bennet) don't appear either. Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh) appears only via his typical voiceover near the beginning and end of the episode.

    • Power Developments:
Peter: It is revealed in this episode how Peter has gained Elle's powers of generating electricity. His blood might temporarily have the same healing effects as Adam/Claire. Also, we learn that he did absorb D.L.'s power of walking through solid objects.

Adam/Claire: A transfusion of Adam's blood can temporarily give the recipient rapid cellular regeneration. It can be assumed Claire's blood would have the same effect.

Adam/Claire/Peter: Due to his healing ability, Peter can reverse the Haitian's memory wipes via healing the part of the brain that controls memory. It is assumed that Claire and Adam would also be able to do this.

Adam Monroe: If he is telling the truth, it would appear that Adam's regenerative abilities allow him to avoid the normal aging process.

    • This is the 4th episode to have a title referring to months or years.

  • Allusions

    • Micah: We could be like the Fantastic Four. Minus one, but still…
