    • The original version of the pilot was 72 minutes long and was different from the aired version in many respects. This version, which originally was shown at Comic Con in San Diego, CA in 2006, is now available as a special feature on the season one DVDs. The title of the original, extended version of this episode was "In His Own Image". In the original version of the pilot, when Simone and Peter arrive at Isaac's loft, they find that he has cut off his own hand. These scenes were used in some of the promotional videos for the series, but the script was later changed to the aired version in which Isaac only overdosed. In previous versions of the script Issac Mendez was named Diego Medina and Issac Borolo and Hiro Nakamura was named Hiro Tanaka. Simone Deveaux at various points had the last names Devere and Deveraux. Also another character, Amid, was in the original pilot but never made it into the actual series. Amid was an engineer in a terrorist cell with radiation powers. He wanted to quit but got pulled back in after the other members of the cell stopped him from hanging himself. The backstory for this character was that he quit on September, 10, 2001 (right before the World Trade Center attack) to run off with an American girl. Who later died of radiation poisoning. Also when he was in high school he was in a foreign exchange program where he stayed with Matt Parkman's family (which tied into Matt's original storyline). Sylar was referenced a lot more and appeared (the showed a man in a hat and trench coat who Mohinder called "Sylar?"). His name in this episode was Paul Sylar. Finally, D.L.'s original story (which can be found on the deleted scenes) showed him phasing out of jail without being aware of it. Micah took a bus to the prison to see him. Also D.L. wanted to kill Nathan for some reason.
