When Peter first enters Nathan's room there is a pool of blood in the hollow of Nathan's throat. When the camera focus on Peter and then comes back to Nathan, his throat is clean.
Sylar: Hello, Claire. I bet you've been wondering what I've been up to since the last time we met. Well, let's just say I took a little... detour from my career path, spent a little time south of the border, but... that's all behind me now. Like a long night after a bad taco.
Claire: No. I saw Hiro Nakamura kill you. I was there!
Sylar: And yet, here I am, fully recovered. Well, not fully. That's actually why I've come.
Peter: What happened to you, Claire? How did you get to this place?
Claire: I'm different, remember? Special.
Kaito: (on DVD) I asked you not to open the safe. But now that you have, beware, there are those who will stop at nothing to get this half of the formula.
Kaito: Should it fall into the wrong hands, there is only one hope; a chosen one among you who carries the purity of blood, the "light" to safeguard against the darkness. Do you understand?
Hiro: No. Not really.
Daphne: How are you doing this? Are you a speedster, too?
Hiro: Speedster? No. I'm Hiro Nakamura. I stop time.
Daphne: I got news. You don't stop it completely or we're not having this conversation.
Hiro: So, you move fast?
Daphne: Not fast. I move really fast.
Hiro: Well, you stole something from me.
Daphne: You mean this?
Hiro: (gasps) Give that back...
Daphne: This whole time-stopping thing, how does it work exactly? I mean, if you chase me to Bangkok, will time stay frozen here in Tokyo?
Hiro: I don't know.
Daphne: Well, something to think about when you get back on your feet.
Hiro: But I am on my feet. (Daphne punches him and time starts again)
Daphne: Gotta go.
Claire: What are you doing to me?
Sylar: Looking for answers before I bleed to death.
Claire: It's funny. I'm looking for answers too.
Claire: Are you gonna eat it?
Sylar: Eat your brain? Claire, that's disgusting.
Mohinder: There are quantum leaps in science that one dreams of being a part of. This is one of them. I don't see why you don't understand that.
Maya: I don't see why anybody would want these abilities. It's a curse. Can what's in that syringe cure me or not? (Mohinder looks away) Then it's evil and you should destroy it. For the sake of all of us.
Peter: We've seen what people like us can do, Nathan. Things no one in the world can. I came back from the dead. You had third-degree burns over half your body.
Nathan: And who's to say this isn't the hand of God? All of us with these powers. Did you ever stop and think about it, Pete? We can be angels. All here to do God's bidding.
Peter: What happened to telling the world about us? Well, we couldn't be angels.
Nathan: If everyone knew, now could we?
Nathan: I saw God today. I was dead and he gave me another chance. The reason I'm here. To do great things. To do his bidding.
Journalist: Mr. Petrelli, earlier today, you were about to make a statement. You had a message to deliver. Are you ready to do that now?
Nathan: God is the only one with a message. It's a message of hope and urgency, because he's not gonna wait much longer. His message is a simple one. We're all connected. Our hopes and our dreams, our children's future reflecting back in each other's eyes. We fight our own personal battles.
But we know we're not alone. Because only together can we make our short time on this planet mean something.Only together can we be the stewards of our own destiny. And we hold in our collective hearts one noble goal. To save ourselves, save the world.
Ando: Look at you. You own fifty-one percent of the company now. A fleet of corporate jets.
Hiro: I can teleport, remember?
Ando: And two hundred and fifty million in cash.
Hiro: A temporary setback. I have no interest in money.
Ando: You can always give it to me. I'm extremely interested in money.
Mohinder: Turning and turning in the widening gyre, the falcon cannot hear the falconer. Things fall apart, the center cannot hold. Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world. The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere, the ceremony of innocence is drowned. The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand. Surely the second coming is at hand. The second coming. Hardly are those words out when a vast image out of spiritus mundi troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert, a shape with lion body and the head of a man, a gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, is moving its slow thighs, while all about it reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again. But now I know that twenty centures of stony sleep were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle. And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
The episode won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series.

Instead of the usual "to be continued..." this episode ended with "Heroes continues now" due to the episodes airing back to back.
This episode was formerly known as "The Butterfly Effect" and "A Second Coming". "The Butterfly Effect" went on to become the title of the second hour of the two-hour Volume Three premiere, which aired after a clip show of Volumes past.
Mohinder Suresh: After injecting the serum, Mohinder shows increased strength.
Angela Petrelli: We learn that she has prophetic dreams, which was apparently the first ability that Peter absorbed.
Future Peter: He was able to cause his face to appear unscarred, possibly through the use of illusions.
Future Ando: He can generate red lightning.
Daphne: (The speedster) She is incredibly fast, able to move with such speed that Hiro's time-stopping ability only slows her down to regular speed, but does not freeze her.
The helix can be seen in the painting of a split Earth, that Matt finds in the desert, which is the same painting on the building, where Mohinder finds his new power.
Episode Title: "The Second Coming"
Refers to the poem "The Second Coming" written by William Butler Yeats. Mohinder's voice over narration at the end of the episode is actually this poem in its entirety.
