Hetty Wainthropp Investigates

Robert's brother, Frank, comes to stay and asks Hetty to investigate the disappearance of Marianne, the daughter of a former girlfriend, who has disappeared from a Victorian living-history museum, where she played a Victorian schoolmistress. Hetty and Geoffrey go undercover at the museum to investigate. Geoffrey proposes to Janet.

Hetty decides to visit her long-lost cousin, Kate, and stumbles across a smuggling ring trading in rare animals. At home, Geoffrey and Janet decide to move in together.
