  • Great episode.

This was a very good episode that I enjoyed watching because it was about Gerald's tonsils and I think that he couldn't sing well and couldn't talk well and I think that is a bad thing and also a sad thing that he couldn't talk because then he couldn't sing. But I think the episode was somehow a great one. The other episode was also good but I didn't like the way Arnold's grandpa wanted to sell the house because then al memories of it would be lost. But Arnold convinces him to not to sell it and that part I think that was a good one in the episode.moreless

  • QUOTES (1)

    • (after Gerald's terrible off-key solo in rehearsal, all the kids laugh)
Stinky: Oh Gerald, that really bites!
Mr. Simmons: OK class, quiet down. It wasn't that funny. OK, it was pretty funny (trying not to laugh but still trying to act serious) but we shouldn't laugh at Gerald's expense!
Helga: Man, you could demolish buildings with that voice!

  • NOTES (2)

    • Gerald's Tonsils was written because the boy voicing Gerald, Jamil Walker Smith, was hitting puberty and the producers could not find a suitable replacement voice actor for Gerald (like they did with Arnold and Eugene), so they explained Gerald's voice change by having his tonsils removed.

    • Gerald's operation is at the Drymon Medical Clinic; Derek Drymon is one of the show's directors.
