  • Great episode.

    9.3
    "Superb"
This episode was a good one because Helga is dissapeared in a magic show that Arnold does and the way she dissapeared wasn't good because every people she ever knew were happy that she dissapeared and that's a bad thing but I really liked the magic show that Arnold does because it was special and cool in many ways and I liked the episode. The other episode was also good the way Harold promised to beat Arnold wasn't good but they play baseball and all in which I think is good. I enjoyed watching this episode and it deserves a good rating.moreless

Even Arnold married to Ruth now that is an crazy dream.

    Pretty good one of course.

    24 Hours To Live.

After hitting Herold with the baseball.Herold tells Arnold that he is going to pound him and Helga keeps calling him telling him he got 24 hr to live and than he dies.

You know the 24 hours to live was the first episode that was shown in the movie before the movie started. So that was when I got hooked on Arnold.moreless

    • "24 Hours to Live" was the pilot that aired with the movie Harriet the Spy. It was remade into the episode that aired on Nickelodeon.

    • In "24 Hours to Live," we see there are two signs on Arnold's apartment. The first sign says "No Kids" and the second sign says "Pets ok". If the sign says no kids, shouldn't Arnold not be able to live in the apartment?

    • In "24 Hours to Live," when Arnold is dreaming and he climbs up the building he rips part of the top pole off. In one shot, it has black tape where your hand go, then in the next it's gone, then it's back again.

  • NOTES (6)

    ADD NOTES
    • Grandpa says that he's (at least) 80 years old (in "Grandpa's Birthday," he turns 81).

    • The address of the boarding house, according to Arnold's fliers, is 4040 Vine Street, but in "Sally's Comet" it's 4040 Vineland.

    • Simpsons Illustrated (a magazine all about The Simpsons television show) contained comic strips about Arnold. In fact, the part in "24 Hours to Live" where Arnold confrots Harold in the end came straight out of one of the Arnold comic strips.

    • "Magic Show" was made into a Nick.com game called "The Great Arnoldini's Magic Game."

    • In "24 Hours to Live," the radio stations name is "KILL," referencing that Harold was supposed to kill Arnold in a few hours.

    • "24 Hours to Live" was the original Arnold pilot that aired in theaters along with movie Harriet the Spy. There were some missing scenes, the clothes of some kids were different, and Arnold had a different voice. This pilot is nowhere available now, not even in the Harriet the Spy video, since it's been replaced by Rugrats.

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Arnold's first two magic spell chants consist of last names of animated cartoon characters. The spell to make Helga disappear consists of "Flanders, Fudd, McBoing-Boing and Whiplash" and the other has "Dastardly, Do-Right, Burns and Rubble." The cartoon characters mentioned include Ned Flanders and Mr. Burns (from The Simpsons), Elmer Fudd (from Looney Tunes), Gerald McBoing-Boing (a classic UPA cartoon character), Snidley Whiplash and Dudley Do-Right (from Rocky and Bullwinkle), Dick Dastardly (from Wacky Races) and Barney Rubble (from The Flintstones).

    • Arnold: (Reversing the "spell" that made Helga "disappear") Wolf, Abzug, Steinem, Faludi. Helga come back and shake your booty! According to Glen Gold, the writer for this episode, that line was changed to the one that you now hear in the episode "Magic Show." As for the names at the beginning of the "spell," they are all last names of feminists: Naomi Wolf, Bella Abzug, Gloria Steinem, and Susan Faludi. The quote that was finally used in "Magic Show" used the last names of old cartoon characters instead.

    • The Great Arnoldini: Name This is most likely taken from "The Great Houdini."
