Magic Show:
Arnold has a magic show and he makes a disappearing act and uses Helga as the person disappearing. Helga decides to play a trick and literally disappears. She bumps into a pole and has a dream on how the world would have been if she's gone.
24 Hours to Live:
Arnold hits Harold with a baseball, so Harold promises Arnold that he'll beat him the next day.
"24 Hours to Live" was the pilot that aired with the movie Harriet the Spy. It was remade into the episode that aired on Nickelodeon.
In "24 Hours to Live," we see there are two signs on Arnold's apartment. The first sign says "No Kids" and the second sign says "Pets ok". If the sign says no kids, shouldn't Arnold not be able to live in the apartment?
In "24 Hours to Live," when Arnold is dreaming and he climbs up the building he rips part of the top pole off. In one shot, it has black tape where your hand go, then in the next it's gone, then it's back again.
Harold: (after getting hit with the baseball) What happened? Helga: Arnold beamed you. Harold: Who? Helga: (imitates Harold) Ahnold.
(Harold got hit by a baseball) Helga: Say something, pink boy! Harold: Night, Mommy.
Helga: Boys are so stupid.
Helga: Oh brother, we're living in Geeksville. Phoebe: I think he looks highly professional. Helga: What, are you blind? Two pigeons just flew out of his pants!
Helga: I can't believe it. They're happy I'm gone? Everybody was supposed to miss me! This can't be happening!
Harold: (to Arnold) Who taught you to bat anyway, YOUR LOONY GRANDMA?
Person in Helga Costume: (Person inside costume speaks through a voice box) Doy. Doy. Doy. Doy. Move it, bucko! Move it, bucko!
Harold: Come on, let's go, I paid for this show! Sid: Paid for it? It's free, you bonehead!
Grandpa says that he's (at least) 80 years old (in "Grandpa's Birthday," he turns 81).
The address of the boarding house, according to Arnold's fliers, is 4040 Vine Street, but in "Sally's Comet" it's 4040 Vineland.
Simpsons Illustrated (a magazine all about The Simpsons television show) contained comic strips about Arnold. In fact, the part in "24 Hours to Live" where Arnold confrots Harold in the end came straight out of one of the Arnold comic strips.
"Magic Show" was made into a Nick.com game called "The Great Arnoldini's Magic Game."
In "24 Hours to Live," the radio stations name is "KILL," referencing that Harold was supposed to kill Arnold in a few hours.
"24 Hours to Live" was the original Arnold pilot that aired in theaters along with movie Harriet the Spy. There were some missing scenes, the clothes of some kids were different, and Arnold had a different voice. This pilot is nowhere available now, not even in the Harriet the Spy video, since it's been replaced by Rugrats.
Arnold's first two magic spell chants consist of last names of animated cartoon characters. The spell to make Helga disappear consists of "Flanders, Fudd, McBoing-Boing and Whiplash" and the other has "Dastardly, Do-Right, Burns and Rubble." The cartoon characters mentioned include Ned Flanders and Mr. Burns (from The Simpsons), Elmer Fudd (from Looney Tunes), Gerald McBoing-Boing (a classic UPA cartoon character), Snidley Whiplash and Dudley Do-Right (from Rocky and Bullwinkle), Dick Dastardly (from Wacky Races) and Barney Rubble (from The Flintstones).
Arnold: (Reversing the "spell" that made Helga "disappear") Wolf, Abzug, Steinem, Faludi. Helga come back and shake your booty! According to Glen Gold, the writer for this episode, that line was changed to the one that you now hear in the episode "Magic Show." As for the names at the beginning of the "spell," they are all last names of feminists: Naomi Wolf, Bella Abzug, Gloria Steinem, and Susan Faludi. The quote that was finally used in "Magic Show" used the last names of old cartoon characters instead.
The Great Arnoldini: Name This is most likely taken from "The Great Houdini."
