  • Both superb episode, but I liked Vacant Lot better

Operation Ruthless: At the Annual Cheese Fair, Helga tries her best to keep Arnold well away from Ruth - a girl who Arnold has a crush on. I thought it was a superb episode. Not my favorite but the stoeyline was well done. Arnold falling for Ruth was very funny. I thought it was funny that Helga decide to keep Arnold from Ruth. I laughed so much when Helga was telling Phoebe something then she said "Which way was the bathroom?" and then Helga said "And pretend this conversation never happens." Brainy's appearance was super hilarious. The last few minutes was dragged. Overall, a superb episode. 9/10

The Vacant Lot: Arnold and friends decide to clear out a vacant lot to play baseball on, but the adults take over it, and use it for their own reasons. I thought it was a superb episode and it is a little better than Operation Ruthless. I thought it was hilarious that the cars kept getting in the way of the kids' baseball games. Arnold turning the vacant lot into a baseball court was very interesting. The kids playing ball there was cool. However, the problem starts when adults take over the field and that made my score a little lower because of that. The adults changing the place to the baseball field was nice. I laughed at the ending when the guy (I forgot which one) kept saying play ball and then Grandpa shouts "Will you be quiet?" Overall, a super episode of Hey Arnold. 9.5/10moreless
  • Great episode in the series.

This episode was very good because Arnold starts following a girl named Ruth that he has a crush on and they start doing many things in a park but they fail most of the times in which I think that was a great episode about that and also it was very funny too because they are in a park were there are machines and this episode also made me laugh for that. Also the other episode was very good because they find a vacant lot and they play baseball there but a day later the adults take control of it. I think that the fact that the aduts took control of the park was unfair because the kids found it first and the deserve respect for finding it but at the end they throw a dumpster and I think it was a well done decition but I liked of the episode at the end that they name it Gerald Field and there they play baseball and everyone is happy playing it and it was funny when Mr. Hyugh yelled play ball at the end because I laugh and was very good to see this episode because it was one of the most exciting episodes in the entire series and deserves a good rating. I personally give this episode a 9.7 superb rating for my review for being such a great episode that I enjoyed watching it alot.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Goof: When Helga tags Gerald out, her catchers mitt has turned into a normal fielder's glove.

    • When the Adults were starting to argue, Harold's shirt is skin-colored.

    • Check after Helga slaps herself and says, "He touched me!" Brainy should walk into the room. They look at the mirrors of him and all, but the middle mirror are wrong! They have him backwards except for the very middle mirror, which is correct. If you watch Brainy when they zoom out, the mirrors don't change and neither does Brainy's direction.

    • Near the ending, Arnold opens the boarding house's door and he walks away without closing the door, but in the next scene when it show's the door, it's closed.

    • In "The Vacant Lot," Grandpa Phil is debating where the checkerboard should go. However, the checkerboard already had a spot on the field.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Eugene: (to a pack of chickens around him) Uh, good chicken. Nice chicken. I like fried chicken. (chickens attack him) AHHH! Get off me! No, stop pecking! No! Help!

    • Ernie: Your chickens pecked every one of my tomatoes!
Harvey: Say, man. My chickens need some room to roam around, you understand? Don't fence them in, man.
Ernie: Oh, I won't fence them. I'll FRY them!

    • Helga: Make way! Shove over, sister. (Checks boy line) This is perfect. A little maneuvering and I'll be riding a swan with Arnold while Ruth winds up with some dumb slob. (Laughs) Helga, you're a genius. (Crashes into a girl) Shove over, sister!

    • Arnold: Our hands! These hands!(Grabs Brainy's hand) Look at these hands!(Brainy wiggles his fingers) They cleaned that lot! It's not fair.

    • Harold: I don't want to go into the Tunnel of Love with you, Rhonda!
Rhonda: Oh, I know you like me, Harold! (Grabs him in the ride, as they head off into the Tunnel of Love)
Harold: I. Do. Not. HELP! Let me go! LET ME GO!
