Big Guy: That cheeseburger is mine! (Yumi bites his butt)
Yumi: No no, it has to be the one true burger: Pink Palace! Haven't you heard the jingle? "Any old burger can be hot, but Pink Palace burgers are the coolest!"
Kaz: (dressed as a gangster and pretending to hijack the tour bus) I am fiendishly taking this bus joyriding--because it brings me joy!
(Yumi is talking to the love-struck chickens) Yumi: Yeah. Uh-huh. No, it's not what you think. Ami: What do they want? Yumi: They think Kaz must be a hot, studly rooster crowing them a mating call. (To the chickens) No, he's not. See for yourself! (The chickens rush to Kaz as he plays a bad song)
Wall: (to Kaz) Wall have job to do! Wall do job! Unquote.
Wall: Quote, Wall not let anyone get near Ami and Yumi, unquote.
Kaz: (singing and playing instrument horribly) When I fell in love with you, I suddenly felt very hungry. It might have something to do with my odd-factory senses because you SMELL LIKE FRENCH FRIES. YOU SMELL LIKE FRENCH FRIES. BIG FRECH FRIES. (imitates guitar strums) FRENCH FRIES. (crowd of people runs out of the concert hall, covering their ears and saying how horrible the song was while Kaz still sings the song) Ami: Oh, no. If Kaz finds out that no ones here, he'll be crushed. Yumi, we've got to do something. (Ami and Yumi go from seat to seat clapping and applauding) Kaz: (still singing) And that would be great except... (stops playing instrument) I'm allergic to french fries. (strums instrument three times then slams it on the ground, destroying it)
Cheeseburger: Yumi! I was made just for you!
Yumi: My cheeseburger! Mine! Mine! Mine!
Main Ally(ies): Wall
In "Song Sung Bad", Jang Keng and Tekirai made a cameo appearance.
Appearently, the Happy Acres Farm from "Save the Farm" is still in business.
The park Ami and Yumi visit to get ice cream in "The Oddyguard" is the same park from "Stupid Cupids".
Wall has a pic of Jang Keng's head on his shirt.
This episode can be found on the Volume 2 DVD "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Rock Forever!"
The name of the song that Kaz sung (and the only song whose score sheet was shown onscreen) was called '"French Fry".
In "Song Sung Bad," we learn that Yumi can speak chicken. This is the second animal language she knows.
Featured Song: Stray Cats Fever
"Hungry Yumi" is similar in plot to the episode "Collect all 5!", except that this time, it is Yumi who wants something badly and goes to extremes to get it.
Kaz slides in his underwear: In the episode segment of "Song Sung Bad," when Ami and Yumi ask Kaz to sing one of his songs for them, he dashes out of the room. He slides back into the room seconds later wearing only his underclothes. This is a reference to the 1983 movie "Risky Business," where Tom Cruise did the same thing in his house before singing a song. Also the title of "Song Sung Bad," is a play off to a popular 1970's song called "Song Sung Blue."
Episode Title: The Oddyguard An obvious spoof on the Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston movie, The Bodyguard.
Name: Pink Palace It is obviously a parody of the fast food restaurant with a similar name, White Castle.
