Yumi's bikini top looks like it's flapping off in one scene.
Timmy's Dad: You can have anything you want, Timmy. Just please don't cry in front of the guests.
Timmy: (pointing to Ami and Yumi) I want them!
Ami: (gulp) Please tell me he's not talking about us.
Timmy: I want my very own rock band to play with!
Yumi: Unless there's another rock band sitting behind us, I'm afraid we're it.
Yumi: I think that parrot has been sniffing too much surfboard wax.
Parrot: Beware of the Mondo Swirl Betty. Biggest, baddest, wave of all.
Ami: Where are our rackets? We can't play tennis without rackets.
Timmy: You don't need rackets the way I play.
Kaz: This is the worst day ever!
Yumi: On second thought, hanging with an eight-year old isn't that bad. (Kaz continues with a tantrum)
Ami: Not even Kaz can't mess this up.
Yumi: I'm sure he'll find a way.
Ami: (about Kaz) He needs a girlfriend.
Yumi: Hey, that's a great idea! But one thing, who would date him?
Ami: Isn't it great to share a best friend to have fun times with?
Yumi: Yeah, especially when she's doing all the work.
Kaz: (on cellphone) Mommy, is that you? You sound younger. Yumi: Quit feeding your face and start talking to your date before I come over there and pound you.(Kaz puts down his cellphone to see Ami and Yumi at a table across from him) Ami: (waves to Kaz) Kaz: Talk about what? She doesn't even like the Rolling Stones!
Courtney: Hi! I'm Courtney, but you can call me Smitten!
Kaz: Hi, Smitten! I'm Kaz.
Courtney: Hey! Your funny. Wanna hang out later?
Kaz: Uh, I think we have to rehearse. Right, girls?
(Ami and Yumi push Kaz closer to Courtney)
Ami and Yumi: He'd love to.
Kaz has no dialogue at all in "Surf's Up".
This episode was put on the 6/17/06 dateline on a TV Guide, but "Ski Sick / Claw and Order / Janice Jealous" aired instead.
The episode's original title was "Tsunami Yumi."
The outfits Kaz tries on:
In "Surf's Up", Ami's bikini top is larger than it was in Robo-Pop, and she keeps it that way for the rest of the series.
"Surf's Up" is the 2nd "anime" beach episode to be banned from America. The 1st was "Beauty and the Beach" from "Pokemon." This episode was banned due to the word "tsunami" in its name and references to the word used in the episode because this episode was aired on 12/31/04, a few days after the tsunami. Beauty and the Beach was banned due to James' inflatable suit.
We learn that Kaz doesn't bathe very often. (Hint: The colonge cloud running away from him)
America hasn't seen Surfs Up yet and it's already been past a year.
All references to a tsunami were taken out of Tsunami Yumi & were changed to the word "wave".
This is the only episode that doesn't air in America.
Surfs Up was appearantly "banned" from the US after the tsunami struck.
Credits: Ami and Yumi riding the wave.
Surfs Up is the first episode where Ami & Yumi are wearing there bikini's throughout the entire episode.
Yumi changes her camouflage/black bikini to a purple one with a skull icon.
Madame Blubbery from "Opera Yumi" makes a brief cameo appearance in "Stupid Cupids."
The Puffy figurines that the girls played with in the live action segment are manufactured by SMITIs. They can be bought online through a number of retailers, like eBay, or even picked up rarely at a Newbury Comics store. An American version, from Mattel, will hit stores in the very near future.

Timmy from "Brat Attack" is eight years old.
Live Puffy Theme: Ami and Yumi play with the little figurines of themselves, as seen on the "Niceville" section of their website.
On this episode's premiere, and several reruns after, Cartoon Network aired "Save The Farm" as one of the episodes, instead of "Tsunami Yumi." "Tsunami Yumi" was not aired due to the big tsunami in Asia that occurred just a few days before this episode was set to premiere. However, this episode is now airing on Cartoon Network along with "Stupid Cupids" and "Brat Attack," but with the title "Surfs Up" in other countries but not in America which is stupid and pointless since it didn't affect America at all.
Two Lovers: Actions
The two lovers seen at at table in Stupid Cupids are eating spahghetti and both are eating the same strand. This is a reference to the movie The Lady and the Tramp.
Timmy is two years younger than and almost acts a little bit like Timmy Turner from the Nickelodeon show The Fairly Oddparents.
The two cheaters from Dance A Go-Go who performed the tango were in the movie playing in the episode "Stupid Cupids".
