Higher Ground

\"Close Encounters\" is a great episode of Higher Ground.



In this episode Scott receives the ability to have his family vist him because he has been good. He is happy except... his stepmom is coming. Scott\'s worst nighmare\'s are coming to reality... again. He talks to Shelby about running away together but Shelby tells him she wants to stay. Shelby takes to Scott about telling his dad about what his stepmim did to h im, but he was afraid and undecided. Shelby falls in love with an abused and abandoned horse that came up upon the grounds of Horizon. Scott goes into town and has dinner with his dad and stepmom. While Scott\'s dad goes to take a business call Scott tells his stepmom that he\'s going to tell his dad what she did to him. Scott\' skanky stepmom tells him that his dad won\'t believe him because he loves her way to much. Discouraged Scott asks his dad to take him back to Horizon for an early nights sleep. This night, some of the Cliffhangers are staying up to help the sick horse that Shelby loves. When Scott gets back he tells Shelby he\'s going to run for it and that if she wants to join him she has to meet up with him outside before they go. Daisy tells Shelby that she should do what\'s on her heart and make ure that she does what\'s right, so she does. When. Scott sneaks out to run away, he doesn\'t find Shelby, so he goes out alone. He breaks into the supply shack and steals a kayak, to go up the treacherous river and become free. Early in the morning Shelby tells Sophia nd Peter that Scott ran so they send out search and rescue to find him. Peter takes a dirtbike to go find him because he\'s worried that Scott iss in serious danger because the city recently was empting the dam so the river would be extremely unsafe. While Scott is going down the rapids his kayak flips and he falls out. he quickly swims to a rock that\'s in the middle of the raging rapids. A second later you see Peter driving buy in the dirt bike to save Scott. He throws Scott a rope to pull him in but Scott couldn\'t reach it so Peter grabs the flipped kayak and safes Scott. When he pulls Scott up off the shore he tells him he\'s done with stopping him from running so he tells Scott if he wants to go he can. Scott decides to go back with Peter to horizon. He gets back and he thanks Shelby for ragging on him and that there would be no way to escape his problems, and that he\'s going to tell his dad. Now Scott goes to talk to his dad... and his stepmom. He goes out and tells his dad about what his stepmom did, while his stepomom puts on an act like he\'s lying and she didn\'t do anything. His dad doesn\'t believe him and Scott leaves the room in tears. Peter follows him and Scott tells him that he feels like he can breathe for the first time in so long. THen it goes to Shelby and the horse, the horse was getting checked by the vet and she finds out he\'s going to be okay. Then Scott talks to Shelby as they holds hands and tells her that she\'s beautiful and the episode ends.
