  • Joe’s good intentions go wrong when someone from his past returns gunning for Charlie. Can Duncan and Joe’s friendship survive?

In this episode we learn more about Joe Dawson’s character. Until this episode the audience did not know the reason the Joe walks with a cane or how he became a Watcher. This is one of the few episodes where the flashbacks have nothing to do with MacLeod. The episode opens with Duncan and Joe returning from Scotland in time to see someone shot in the parking lot of the airport. The shooter is Charlie DeSalvo, from the 2nd and 3rd seasons. The person he shot is Andrew Cord, the Immortal who is responsible for Joe becoming a Watcher. Joe is caught between his friends. Cord is the person who saved his life, carrying him 16 miles through the jungle in Vietnam after the explosion that cost Joe his legs. MacLeod is his friend now, he also owes Duncan his life, but Duncan is trying to stop Cord from killing Charlie. Joe tries to keep his two friends from taking fighting one another and Charlie pays the ultimate price. Another good episode showing why a watcher and Immortal should not befriends.
