Plans are going ahead to remake the original movie, cast not yet announced. Summit Entertainment are reportly behind the project and have signed the "Iron Man" writing team of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway to script. If anyone has any more details.....

That sounds like a bad idea, the original was great why mess with it.

Hollywood should just stop with the remakes. Everything they remake turns out bad.

At this point... what the hell?

They couldn't do no worse. The Source officially murdered the original franchise & TV series, and the first four films were largely hit & miss.

They certaintly couldn't do any worse after The Source. If they can get a good cast, it might work. I'd go with Ewan McGregor for MacLeod.

I doubt it will be very good. I mean it certainly has the potential to be a success, but the whole idea for the original was a big risk then and now people are even pickier with sci fi movies. Also, a lot of kids and teenagers that see won't have heard of the original and will think that the remake is the original and if it sucks then they might find out about the original stuff and assume that it will suck too.

Like it really matters to the producers whether it's going to be good or not. All that matters is that the name Highlander is in the title and they will get the lemming fan dollars from all of the sci-fi fans.

People watch movies like that (sci-fi/fantasy) because they like the genre. Not because they think it will be good.... they just hope it will be good and will definately watch it on release to make sure they aren't missing anything good.

Remakes are just another way to make garbage that already has a fan base/guaranteed revenue without having to be original.
