Duncan returns to his roots, the village where he grew up and lost his first love. For Duncan their love is eternal and when he finds the bracelet he gave his first love Debra Campbell he feels compelled to return to Glenfinnan to put the bracelet back in her grave. We learn more about how Duncan grew up as the son of a chieftain, the death of his cousin Robert at his hand in a fight over Debra and her tragic death that followed. In the episodes flashbacks we see to first time that Duncan faced an Immortal. Before he even knew that he was one. There is good character development between Duncan and Joe. Their friendship is shown like never before in this episode. A friendship that will be truly tested as the season goes on. This episode is also Adrian Paul’s directorial debut. Overall great start to what will be the best season of Highlander.
