    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • During the slow-motion part when Horton shoots Duncan, you can clearly see the squib pack on Duncan's chest.

      • The video footage used when Horton identifies Duncan was from Season 2 episode 7 "The Return of Amanda".

      • Trivia: This episode establishes that Immortals are barred from engaging in any sort of violence on holy ground, even against mortals. If the rule were meant only to prevent fighting with other Immortals, it seems likely that Duncan would have killed Horton in the mausoleum.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Duncan: Those pieces will soon be real men in the field of battle. How will you lead them?
Auric: They'll learn to fear me.
Duncan: Then they will only fight for you. If they love you, they will die for you.

      • Duncan: You're a long way from home, Xavier.
Xavier: Home is where the head is. Or don't you agree?

      • Delaney: I prayed for someone once. I prayed for days and it didn't work. I guess no one was listening.
Duncan: He works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. That's the why part. Hopefully someday you get to understand.
Delaney: If I live four hundred years.
Duncan: Sometimes it takes longer than that.

      • Duncan: I believe there's an order in the universe, that there's purpose, that things eventually fit. Even if you can't see how or why.

      • Charlie: (to Duncan) You cut off his arm, didn't you? No wonder he's pissed.

      • Duncan: Don't worry - I don't bite. In fact I haven't had to wear a muzzle in years.

    • NOTES (2)

      • Xavier is missing the hand that he lost to Duncan's sword in "For Tomorrow We Die," establishing for the TV show that an Immortal's ability to heal has some limits and doesn't let them regrow missing body parts and certain other forms of damage (as we'll later see with Kalas' injured vocal cords).
