I happily own seasons 1, 2, and 3 (I had to buy them on eBay since no local retail store here in Vancouver, Canada seems to sell them, which is a shame).
So when are seasons 4 and 5 coming out on dvd? Assuming they are releasing them, and fingers crossed, they are!
A&E is not going to release the last two seasons on DVD because Seasons 1, 2, and 3 supposedly sold very poorly. That is a major shame since the series was more than halfway through DVD production, but there is a chance that the heirs in charge of Michael Landon's estate could successfully have a lawyer help another company gain the rights for the show. That is the only way Seasons 4 & 5 will officially be released on DVD. Right now the only way they can be purchased is if you go on a website where you can pay $100.00 to have the entire series produced onto DVD- but those would be unofficial copies as the screen quality would be in an unrestored condition. Only official copies would have the screen quality in a perfectly restored condition. Also, someone was nice enough to put all the episodes as videos on YouTube- so you can just watch the ones you have never seen before on there as well as rewatch ones you have not seen in a long time.
