  • Outstanding work by Lorne Greene

    9.0
Lorne Greene plays a stage actor who is unhappy with his current project. But that all changes when he claims to have had a vision of God during a performance. Now the aging actor is faced with having to end a stellar career with everyone thinking he's a crackpot.

Greene's portrayal is very sincere and convincing. He faces hostility and doubt from his own family and even from Jonathan (an interesting take on Michael Landon's character). At the same time, he puts up with his sister and nephew despite their conniving with almost martyr-like selflessness.

The character of Ed, the selfish nephew, was probably the only flaw I found in an otherwise outstanding episode. I'm guessing Ed was intended to provide comic relief, but I felt the whiny portrayal was a little too much.
