It's not. Not even close. It's totally different. Save for the fact that Sai is a ghost, it’s much more realistic. Plus, Hikaru isn’t some all-powerful, always winning guy. He’s a regular person, growing and learning as the show goes on. In fact, there are many characters in the show who are much better than Hikaru and have beaten Hikaru.

Actually, when I think about it, the only thing they have in common is that a “spirit” possesses both Hikaru and Yugi. And even that has many differences.

Plus, how is a game of cards and ancient Pharaoh Egyptian crap the same as Go. Did you even read any episode summaries or see any episodes, or did you just read the show summary

*looks back a post* Sorry if that came off as a bit too harsh

It's nothing like checkers. Checkers doesn't have 361 different places to put a stone. The only similarity I see between the two is the fact that you can actually capture pieces.

I suggest you watch a game of it and see how different it is from checkers.

His hair's not that strangely colored, he just bleached the front of it. Yugi has pink, black, and blonde hair at the same time. >_>

Well, maybe Hikaru's a Shaman, like Yoh Asakura. After all, Hikaru is the only one who can see Fujiwara-no-Sai, and not other people, unless they are Shamans. and like Yoh said in "The Boy Who Dances With Ghosts," A Shaman is "He who bonds this world and the next."
